From what I understood (thanks Google Translate), they leave due to recent not so positive developments. What do they mean?
    The possible cartel scandal?

No - there was nothing mentioned about the cartel scandal. It was more due to the fact, that they hoped in the beginning that the WEC and especially the LMP1-Category would develop better with more attraction to other Manufacturers. The Result was more the opposit - Nissan wasn't really there, Audi dropped out and no real interesst from other manufacturers to join the LMP1-Competition.

Totally understandable, but in the end it's the Manufacturers them self that created this situation due to rules they worked on together with ACO.
I would wish, that ACO had an ear on Henry Pescarolo who always claimed that smaller private teams should have the theoretical possibility to fight for the lead.

Yeah, LMP rules have become really weird. When a car that costs 6mil to run is only 1 lap behind another that costs 150mil after 24h regardless of the circumstances, manufacturers will say "What's the point of the 150mil car?". Maybe it will be better to make LMP2 the top category. Just allow manufacturers to make engines within a set price and either sell them or use them themselves.

I'll try not to moan about it this time and simply hope they will announce an F1 programme in the near future. (It's not very likely though, but still ...)

Same as ever happens....Series (X) prospers, much private Teams, good Sports in usual - when the Big Brands enter this , costs explode , private Teams leave Series , cause there have noch chances (and the big Brands won´t be beaten by them...).
Then Series (X) goes down if one of the big Brands leaves cause of whatever (marketing/Costs).

Perfect Series in my Opinion - no Traction Control, No ABS, H-Shift or Seq Stick at max.
Good Optics, no Flaps , a big Wing on the Rear - thats it.(Nascar Sound maybe :)
The Pilot have to fight with the Car and the Opponents :)

GT3´s are really great cars but they could be more difficult to drive - like S.Schmitz said as she try out the actual BMW M6 - ill drove down the Fuchsröhre and im thinking about what i should be cooking tomorrow.......
But overall i love them, great optics and Sound!
The GT3 series is on the edge now and we will see where does it goes. (GT4...)

Wtcc is already dead, great series , but no marketing in Germany.
Great fights, not too much Aero and "electrical helferlein".
Brands like Chevrolet and Lada are also not magnificient here.(dont get me wrong, i like these underdogs..)
    TCR will replace it.(has already).

Personally i´ll give a try this year some smaller series to watch live.
Besides Oldtimer Grand Prix, VLN,ADAC GT Masters the Nascar Whelen and the DMV GTC should be worth a visit.
Hmmm maybe i need more free Weekends ..........

I guess what we see in GT3 is something like you've descriped above regarding the influence by manufacturers. As the manufacturers discovered the potential of GT3 they've jumped on the train an build their GT3-Spec-Cars. Suddenly everywhere GT3-Cars popped up and the Manufacturers called it "Customer-Sports". But many of those "Customers" get so many support by the Manufacturers, that they are in fact a works-team.
GT3 wasn't meant like that. It was mean't as a customer-oriented semi-professinal Race-Spec with cars build up by tuning-companies. Due to the influence of the Manufacturers, smaller Companies like Reiter Engineering and Callaway are getting in to trouble to find sponsors and get a return of their investment, when they develop a new car.

According to this, the should come back. But I think it's just in GTE. Developing a lmp1 just for LeMans? I don't known.

He won only because Kimi blocked him free. After the race he jumped out of the car like he battled alone against all the great names that ever existed in F1.

In my opinion shameful. Kimi was pissed, too.
