I wonder how the tyre debacle and cancellation of remaining races in WTCR22 will affect next season. This one already seemed quite improvised with last minute entries and less manufacturers.

At the Nürburgring Endurance Series 6h Race, I had the chance to share the legendary #4 Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R with Alessio Picariello.
Funny side note: We knew each other from 2010 where we drove against each other in GTR Evolution among others like Mathieu Jaminet & Stoffel Vandoorne.

We were unlucky with a 60 sec time penalty right at the beginning, but fought back and were looking at a podium finish until Alessio had an unfortunate contact with subsequent Tyre failure only 2 hours before the end.

The DTM Trophy returns on 26.-28. August back from it's 8-week summer break. As usual Tim Heinemann will be driving the Toyota GR Supra #90, operated by Toyota Gazoo Racing Germany powered by Ring Racing.
It's the home race for the Team Ring Racing, based in Boxberg (12 km from the Nürburgring), same as for Tim. The SimRacing star, who grew up in Mönchengladbach, completed his first kilometers on a race track at the Nürburgring, got his racing license here, contested his first car race and also clinched his first race victory.

    ____________

    #90 Tim Heinemann (GER):
“The summer break has been very long and I can hardly wait to get back in the car. I enjoyed the race-free time with my family and my girlfriend and recharged my batteries for the title fight. The last two race events didn't go that well and I would like to change that again with my Team Ring Racing to be on the top of the podium again at the Nürburgring. I'm better prepared than ever before!"

Tim Heinemann is back from the summer break with a double victory at the Nürburgring.
In the two training sessions on Friday already, Tim showed that he is to be reckoned with by finishing P3 & P5.

On Saturday, the entire schedule was delayed by hours due to persistent fog. There was no qualifying and the start was based on the rankings in the championship, so Tim started from 2nd place into the first race, for which he just warmed up on his RaceRoom simulator. Although he got off to a good start, he lost a few positions before the first corner and fell back to 5th place. However, the RaceRoom-SimRacing-Star remained tough and snatched back 2nd place into the fourth turn before taking the lead in the fifth turn. He benefited from the position battles behind him and was able to open up a small gap of almost two seconds. A lightning-fast Porsche Cayman took over 2nd place 10 minutes before the end of the race and chased Tim, but was unable to catch up with him due to a safety car phase that lasted until the end of the race.

On Sunday, Tim confirmed his good form with pole position in qualifying. With a good start, Tim defended his lead and once again benefited from the battle for second place between the two Porsche Cayman drivers. With a spotlessly clean race, Tim drove towards a double victory. The 24-year-old was able to regain the championship lead on Saturday and extend it on Sunday.

The next race will take place from 10.-11. September in Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium).

“What a great weekend. It really couldn't have gone better for us. A double victory - and that at the home race for my team Ring Racing, for Toyota and for me! We were never the fastest, but we did a flawless job and were rewarded for it.”

Highly motivated by the double victory at the Nürburgring, Tim Heinemann and Toyota Gazoo Racing Germany powered by Ring Racing are heading to the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium next weekend. The Ardennes roller coaster with the legendary curve "Eau Rouge" is well known from F1. Spa-Francorchamps is the third to last race weekend of the DTM Trophy and the exciting phase of the championship begins. The 2020 DTM Trophy Champion Tim Heinemann travels to Belgium as the overall leader with a lead of 39 points.

“The weekend at the Nürburgring couldn't have gone better for us and gave us even more motivation, but we also know that it won't always go like this. With the tough competition in the DTM Trophy, being at the front is anything but a sure-fire success. We keep working hard and hope for a good weekend in Belgium. I know the tricky and fast track in Spa quite well from my RaceRoom simulator and I'm looking forward to the challenge of the fast corners. We also expect rain at the weekend, so it will be exciting!”

In Sunday's race on the legendary Ardennes rollercoaster in Spa-Francorchamps, Tim Heinemann clinched his fifth win of the current season and extended his lead in the championship to 64 points.

In the rainy race on Saturday, the RaceRoom-SimRacing-Star started the race from sixth position and managed to move up to fourth place at the beginning. Towards the middle of the race, however, he was no longer able to match the lap times of his opponents and had to settle for 9th position with blunt weapons.
After a rainy Saturday, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps showed its sunny side on Sunday. With a perfect lap, Tim was able to secure pole position and thus the best starting position for the 30-minute race.
At the start of the race he stayed cool and defended his lead before the safety car had to come out on the first lap. Tim also skillfully defended his lead at the restart and was able to break away from his pursuers and clinched his fifth win of the current season with a lead of 5 seconds and now has 182 points in the championship. His closest rival in the fight for the title, Colin Caresani, was unable to score in 13th place and has 118 points.

It was also the first time that the two simracing colleagues @Moritz Löhner and Tim shared the podium. Both come from the RaceRoom school and made their way into real racing. MAybe the first time ever

The next race of the DTM Trophy will take place from September 30th to October 2nd at the RedBull Ring (Austria).

“Even though the weekend got off to a mixed start and we didn't stand a chance in Saturday's race, we were able to successfully end the race weekend by winning the second race and rewarding the entire team for their hard work. Ring Racing had a double burden at the weekend with the DTM Trophy and the 12-hour race at the Nürburgring, which everyone involved mastered brilliantly.”
