Question - does anyone know how to stop the web menu screen from darkening? Dark / black background web pages darken as well. As far as I can work out it has something to do with laptop power settings and/or ambient light detection. Problem is my PC is not a laptop but the screen darkens when it detects a black background. It's doing this with a brand new fresh windows reinstall / reset on a clean hard drive. Sigh.
Maybe it's your monitor's behaviour? Mine does something like that but not as aggressive is in your case. On the lowest settings it still turns off the backlight if the screen is black. A bit confusing and totally useless gimmick. Thankfully it only happens rarely.
That's a thought -thanks. It does it on both monitors but still could be a monitor thing. I'll investigate further. Driving me crazy. I have a completely fresh install of Windows, Raceroom etc and I'm still having issues!!
It happened to me when I used Nvidia Surround with Bezel Correction. Using Surround without Bezel Correction and doing the bezels inside Raceroom solved it.
Thanks for the suggestion - not the case for me though. I think I've fixed it by setting power settings to optimum /max. I made the mistake of trying a few things and now I'm not sure exactly which one worked!!! It still dims very slightly but before it became unreadable.
