I can’t get the game to run at more than 70 fps and it often dips to the 50’s, sometimes even lower. Could someone please help?

    My setup:
-ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3060 Ti AMP White LHR
    -INTEL Core i7-12700F Alder Lake
-Kingston FURY Beast RGB DDR4 16GB 3200 MHz
-WD BLACK SN750 SE M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB
-ASUS TUF GAMING B660-PLUS WIFI D4
    -Windows 11 Home
-Triple ASUS TUF VG27AQ1A monitors connected using display port cables.

    Nvidia control panel settings:
    7680 x 1440 (recommended)
    144 Hz

    In-game display settings:
    Display mode - Full Screen
    Aspect Ratio - 48:9
    Resolution - 7680x1440 144Hz
    VSync - On

    Graphics settings:
    Graphics Level - Auto
    Car Reflection Quality - Reduced
    Car Shadows - On
    Contact Shadows - 32
    Shadow Split - On
    Car Texture Quality - High
Rear View Mirror Quality - Medium
    Visible Cars - 36
Car LOD Distance setting - High
    Shader Quality - High
    Particle Detail - Low
Track Level of Detail - High
    Track Animations - On
    Track Texture Quality- High
    Shadows - High
    Tiremarks - On
    Specular - On
    Multi-Sampling - 4 x AA
    FXAA - On
    Bloom - On
    Motion Blur - Fast
    Motion Blur Quality - Ultra
    Lightshafts - On
    Lens Effects - On
    Depth of Field - On

Is my computer not as powerful as I thought, or am I missing something?

    Thanks.

it isn't - triple 2k 144hz is probably too much for that card
but u have some bullshit settings that hit performance and some of them make ur game also uglier
anyway u should probably try to aim at stable 75hz with 2k resolution on 30 cars grid
    or 1080p with higher hz

    try these
Car Reflection Quality - Reduced (u can go even lower, these reflections are ugly and have slow refresh rate anyway)
    Car Shadows - On
    Contact Shadows - 20
Shadow Split - Off (but u can try to stay with On)
    Car Texture Quality - High
Rear View Mirror Quality - Medium
    Visible Cars - 20
Car LOD Distance setting - High
    Shader Quality - Medium
Particle Detail - Low (set medium if u want to see sparks)
Track Level of Detail - Medium
    Track Animations - Off
    Track Texture Quality- High
    Shadows - Medium*
    Tiremarks - On
    Specular - On
    Multi-Sampling - x4
FXAA - Off (this works similar to MSAA but is worse so better set MSAA to x8 than turn on 2 different AAs but with 2k MSAA x4 should be more than enough and x8 gonna hit performance ofc)
    Bloom - Off
    Motion Blur - Off
    Motion Blur Quality - Low
Lightshafts - On (I personally have it off because it was annoying but if u like it shouldn't hit performance at all)
    Lens Effects - Off
    Depth of Field - Off

and set anisotropic filtering x16 in nvidia panel settings

*I personally run every simracing game without shadows because they were always annoying for me anyway
turning them off is big fps boost but I understand that not everyone want "esport settings" :p

One other thing to consider is are you doing single player or multiplayer? In SP, the number of other cars both drawn and selected and variable time of day settings will affect FPS. There are also some tracks like Spa on Ring 24h where parts of the track have high load and it´s the same for everyone. As mentioned in other threads, RRE is a CPU intensive game and does not make use of multicore CPUs as well as more modern ones but GPU overlocking software and some wheel drivers can also impact on performace - take a look at the benchmark thread too.

Like Mike, I´d say lowering the resolution would also be a big help. You have a really good setup that should run this game and all the other racing sims no problem.

You could also see what results you get when doing leaderbosrd hotlaps with no other cars.

Thanks for the help guys. I think my problem was that the frame rate was all over the place rather than too low. I’ve managed to pretty much lock it at 60 without sacrificing too much fidelity, and it feels smoother than ever. I’ve turned all the “effects” such as motion blur, bloom and alike off, though, and set the car reflections to simple cube map.

Today there was an update for Steam VR and suddenly I got really bad fps. After a while of testing I went back to the normal non beta version of Steam VR. Everything is perfect now again 90 fps. So its probably better not to use the beta versions
