In car setup, under steering settings.
What does the number for steering lock adjust.
I can't see any variance from one extreme to the other.

The lock number adjusts the sensitivity of the wheel as a proportion of it`s total rotation (I`m sure someone with more technical knowledge than me will explain it better). Basically the higher the lock, the more sensitive the steering.
Try setting something ridiculous like 270/30, or 900/9. If there`s no difference to your steering then there`s something wrong.
The first setting will steer the car with just a twitch of the wheel, the second will hardly turn the car at all.
Also, the numbers retain their proportions, so 900/30 is the same as 540/15 etc.
The other variable is the original rotation/lock figure that the cars have irl. These have been set by S3, but of course they`re adjustable to whatever you feel more comfortable with.

Thanks that's clears that up for me.
just adjusting the lock number didn't seem to do much.
but know that I know what I'm changing I see the difference clearly.

270/30 that's not ridiculous my wheel only allows me 180 so i go 180/15-20.

I just need a better wheel so i can be more aggressive.

You mean 900/30 is the same ratio as 450/15, i guess. ;)
