I've noticed recently some big dips in streaming performance to Twitch using OBS Studio when streaming a race as an observer. I normally set the dedi server for a max of 24 drivers. The issue seems to occur when the lobby is full or near full.

I get a warning on OBS that 'encoding is overloaded'. Checking my hardware monitor at this point shows that both the CPU and GPU are nowhere near being maxed out. Obviously this eventually leads to dropped frames and stuttering in the stream.

It may be anecdotal evidence, but it does seem to occur more when there are a lot of drivers in the lobby with a high ping (200+).

Anyone offer an explanation or ideas for a fix? My broadband is generally 70/20 with a ping of around 10ms.

    Thanks in advance

edit: Just watching the latest race - looks like streaming performance takes a big hit when the cars are loading into the grid before the race starts.
