Hello. I am relatively new to R3E so I maybe mist announcements/information about it. Do we know anything about weather in R3E? Will it have presets or dynamic changes one day? Thanks Tim
I was gonna buy my own house once, my daughter asked me how long till i do i said soon, that was 10 years ago. Im still in rented. I hope your soon is sooner than my soon!
I was gonna say, with the soon response, has it ever been mentioned that it is even being worked on? If so I missed the memo (and I certainly may have)
I would be quite happy with a static selection for weather, for example just an option to race in the rain...no need for changeable conditions initially....guessing though all the cars would then need an overhaul to get working wipers too! If it got implemented and Sector 3 (And I'm guessing the R3E community) where happy with where a"rain" option is (I mean there's gotta be a whole lot of changes made to the physics of the tracks/cars as well) they could then look into variable weather over the course of a race...But I have patience and the confidence In Sector 3 that weather options will happen down the road. Chris
unless they are going to do it well (not just a global grip modifier a la pcars) i don't want it, ill let them take there time.
You're not going to get weather or night/day effects until they change the engine, and that will NEVER happen, it will be a new game if ever developed, where you will have to pay for everything all over again.
The engine was supposed to support rain and so far I haven't heard any reliable info that it can't. For night we know the reason why it's not possible (the engine only supports one light source), but not for rain.
Mmmm, the engine supports a wet line aiw (path that ai follow ) Not sure the game actually supports rain drops Andi
Does Raceroom run on a different engine to the old GTR2 & GT Legends sims? Both had night & GTR2 also had weather.
As far as I understand, the physics engine is a sort of an update on ISI's physics engine used in rFactor 2, GTL, GTR2, Race 07, but the graphics engine is different (it is Sector3's in-house engine called RendR).
We´ve been through this many times before and back in the day, the CEO of Simbin did say it was possible. Perhaps the isse is that any added features have a processing power cost and it was just maybe too much to handle. This is certainly the case in some other games like ACC and AMS2, where certain weather and lighting comos slow the games down a lot. GTR2 actually had a major bug with the weather, IIRC dynamic did not work in race sessions and a 3rd party app fixed it.
