Hi guys, I've seen a few different posts on this topic with different answers, so I just wanted some clarification. Does RaceRoom support an aspect ratio of 32:9? Or can it only manage 21:9? I ask because I am debating buying a: Samsung C49HG90 49" QLED Curved HDR AMD FreeSync 2 Gaming Monitor, 3840 x 1080 1ms, 32:9 Aspect Ratio. Any help would be awesome.
I don't have an aspect ratio like that. But according to this thread, it should work https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/windowed-mode-resolutions.10543/ You need to specify the custom resolution in the Nvidia settings to make it work.
I have this monitor and in game menu it says 21:9, but resolution is correct. Also menu is not supported 100% and its glitched a bit, but its not really an issue. Only white background image in menu do not fill whole display. I can post screenshot later how it looks. During race everything works perfectly. My only issue was HUD which was in my opinion too big (mainly top time bar) and also I used HUD manager to change position of minimap, etc to have it closer to middle, not in the very side of this wide display. In HUD Manager I also make top bar smaller so I am 100% satisfied with this monitor. I noticed one small bug when I bought this monitor, that even I had "Sleep timer" set to OFF, monitor anyway wanted to Turn off after like 4 hours by itself. (60 second shutdown countdown window appeared). Even in the middle of race. Firmware update fixed this problem. PS: I did not specify any custom resolution in the Nvidia settings. Only standard windows desktop resolution and in-game settings.
