I am using a Fanatec CSW V2 with xbox universal hub. The problem I have is when I turn the wheel the input on screen stutters and seems to lag behind then catch up with my wheel. No other parts of the game stutter or lag. Just the wheel input. I have noticed I can also see the stutter in the advanced calibration page where you can test the range of movement of your controllers. I have v-sync off and maximum pre rendered frames set to 1. I only have this problem with Raceroom. I have dirt 4, PC, AC, F1 2016 etc and I don't have this problem in those games. Any help would be appreciated.
Had one really rare case where someone was using a wireless controller dongle. They removed it/installed latest drivers for it and then their wheel no longer had issues. I don't remember the details exactly so I'm not sure this is the solution.
Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but I am suffering the exact issue that OP reported. I have tried everything but to no avail. Did you ever fix it Virgil?
I have established this is not a hardware issue. If anyone has any ideas I'd be so grateful! The wheel works on my good friend's PC that I bought the wheel from. Having had the issue on my PC, I also tried the wheel on my wife's PC and it works without issue, therefore eliminating hardware and cable issues. The things I have tried on my PC to resolve the issue include: Formatted hard drive and fresh windows install with just fanatec driver 402 installed. Full windows update including optional updates. Bios update Tried all usb ports USB power saving disabled I have also tried using driver (and associated firmware) 381 but to no avail.
Try downloading diview , run it , then start the game, make sure you in a usb 2 port, in di view do you get the stuttering? Check ingame aswell. Also check that your wheel isnt selected in steam . Steam/settings/ controllers
Thank you for your comment. I have downloaded diview as you suggested and I can see it happening in there too. Steam can see the controller, but it isnt selected. Also I saw the issue on a fresh windows install before any apps or games were installed.
Yes I have tried using all 8 usb ports, some usb 2, some usb 3. I have also tried a different usb cable.
If diview sees it stuttering then its stuttering , diview reads from what windows sees , raceroom reads directly from that , other games dont , so the issue is some how on that pc , Suggestions , uninstall all fanatec software , run ccleaner , use the tools and check for registry errors , make back up and then click fix in ccleaner Restart pc Download recomended firmware/drivers for your wheel , install Restart pc Check using diview (if you have more than 1 rim try a different one ) Tag me if it doesnt work Andi
Unfortunately having followed your suggested steps, I'm still suffering the same issue Doubt its of much help but here are my system details:
