I really wish Sector3 would make this game available offline.

Not having the ability play this offline in 2020 is really bizarre

Absolutely brilliant game, but this is the one thing I cannot stand. I am not too sure why this is, but there has to be a VERY valid reason for it from the Sector3 point of view?

Not being able to play the game offline when you have spent a fair bit of change on it is kinda.....annoying to say the least.

Something to do with preventing piracy perhaps? But whatever the reason, it is indeed a total pain the arse.

Considering how the whole game is built around the online infrastructure, asking for an offline mode in R3E is a bit like asking for an offline mode in World of Warcraft.

Nah I get OP's sentiment tho, I play on a laptop and brought it to my friend's house who's stuck on xbox. I could let him try RaceRoom because he doesnt have internet

I just got the sim and was very surprised that it is online only. What is crazy is that it requires 37meg on your HD, for an online game is nuts.
Others do off line, do really see the reason why it was made this way, seems backwards.

Many complain that they don't own the content to iRacing.
It's my opinion that we don't own the content to RaceRoom either.
If I move to a cabin in the woods without internet access, I won't be able to play it.
If RaceRoom goes belly-up in the future (I hope they don't), I won't be able to play it.

if you move to a cabin ; thats your choice, you choose to remove your access

if they go belly up im sure they will release everything thats needed to run offline

I'm thinking of moving to somewhere that doesn't even have a cabin.

Just installed to play on a laptop as it is not too spec intensive plus unfortunately with mobile data limits and it is absolutely bizarre there is not an off line mode.
F1 2020, rFactor2 and ACC all play offline, so I don't think piracy etc is the issue.
    Well strange.

That appears to be less than honest.

Just look in the Interwebbz and you can find ACC, AMS 2 latest versions just minutes after they got released on Steam... Was exactly the same for AC and the Pcars games... A 2020 rF2 build with all the released pay content is there too... When you search for iRacing the only thing you will find is a build from 2008 :D
