Well I must be driving different G5's as I still struggle in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when turbo kicks in, was in the Beemer last night and totalled it on several occasions, not sure if it makes any difference but in settings I have all 3 pedals set to 100% on sensitivity, default is 50% and too much gas produces a pirouette. Perhaps your throttle control is just too damn good!
that setting is only related to response curve, 50% is linear, other values make the curve logarithmic, but 100% of my throttle is 100% of your throttle. it's so strange we have so different feelings from the same game
If I drop the clutch and hit the gas at flag drop I generally veer r/l into the barrier, with a bit of clutch slip and a lot of wheel waggle I can leave big black lines! I really struggle to stop spinning in first 3 gears, all about short shifting for me, else I'm daisy cutting! Not sure how to explain the contrast in opinions with the G5's, they're definitely not as maniac as when first released but I'm pretty sure they are closer to reality now, as what is the point of making a race car that is erratic and undriveable, kinda contradiction in terms. Yes, some of the early incarnations would have been lethal but by the time they hit the track on race day they would have been fettled into something that would at least stay on the track and compete with the opposition or what is the point. Whether true to life or an extension of someone's imagination after a 30 min race I am exhausted both physically and mentally but most of all happy as a Sandman!
I have nothing against the updated physics. What i mean is that it is impossible to make the wheel spin on first gear from standing still with some of the group 5 cars. BMW, Silvia, Skyline and Zakspeed. The Greenwood and Monza work as they should. DTM 92 and Touring Classics works nice.
Nope! I always using manual clutch when driving cars with h-shift. Sorry about the low quality. Had to use my phone...
do me a favour and if you want save that set up , then reset to default etc and retry , i assume that for some reason that your using an ancient setup with a wrong gearbox final drive pattern thus making wheelspins impossible and making 1st gear very mong Andi
Confirmed. Short 10 min video just going through the Gr. 5 cars standing starts. H-shifter, manual clutch and default set-ups.
here it happens the same. this is the same 320 in another game but with 250 HP less, look at the smoke in rear mirror so, or the turbo simulation is wrong, see also the lack of turbo kick, or my game is bugged and remains in amateur mode even if I choose getreal
I've only bought the Group 5 cars recently before patch, and run with a gamepad and auto-clutch. But I've found something similar at least with the 320T and Capri after the 25th patch. It seems like, IIRC, they don't break traction at high rev as easily as they did when the boost kicked in low gear, so there's no need to modulate acceleration or short-shift at that point. Also, auto-clutch won't correctly let it slip a bit to keep rpm from falling in a standing start. So these cars will start very slowly after they drop to a low rev when you engage 1st at high or mid-high revs, as if you started to accelerate with 1st engaged from idle. But this issue was also present before.
Just tried Capri and 935. With full tank they pretty much don't break traction on standing start. After droping it to ~10L things start to look much different. My guess is that problem here lays in that all cars start at perfect tire temperatures and you need a lot of dedication to put them out of optimum range. Normally you would start at around 20-30°C which would give you much less grip. Second thing - I noticed that turbo doesn't seem to work on neutral and when you clutch in. At least gauge doesn't move. Should this work like this?
