Nooooooooooo , please don't! A high quality sim needs high quality race tracks . Keep it up Sector 3, pls!
I can see what you mean and respect that. However I don't think you need to compromise. You should never NEED to compromise. If you ride under the sim racing name you CAN'T compromise. The tracks can look and feel very realistic without it needing to be laser scanned, every tree being the right shape and type. But the overall feel of the venue, the layout, the vital trackside objects and the topography are things that need to be done right and that is already maybe 90% of the built track so why skip some steps? I love Raceroom Raceway, but no one except the free 2 play servers uses it since it doesn't exist and therefore isn't "realistic". Indianapolis has been updated in real life and the one in the game looks very dated now so it feels wrong to drive. If you focus on releasing hundreds of tracks that look half-assed then you can call it a day as a carrier of the sim racing name to your title. It should always be quality before quantity and if you don't have that mindset there's no use of trying to fight in the sim racing world of games. Or would we want hundreds of cars that all drive the same, with the same physics - just to have content? I wouldn't. And we have games like Forza for that already. My personal opinion is that Sector3 has done a great job on the tracks in game, and I'm not saying that to be a fan boy - it is the fact. And being a tester I think its very important for me/us to look for realism on the new tracks before release as well as keeping the released ones updated and keep the standard high. You have Google Earth and HQ onboards on YouTube and they're powerful tools, even for us non-professionals. When you can watch a real life onboard, use the same techniques as they do and feel like you drive the same thing in game you feel like a fucking superstar. That's what we're here for since we aren't out there doing it for real. Driving on Rainbow Road version of Nordschleife would just feel...psychedelic?
I think I have the scale right. Is this correct? Soon-in the future, undetermined Very Soon-within the next week Very Very Soon-tomorrow Very Very Very Soon-today Very Very Very Very Soon-as soon as JF pushes the Button Is that correct?
Pretty much, except J-F doesn't push any buttons anymore, by now he's just the poster-face of this operation and busy spending the gazillions of dollaries he's made here.
Looking forward to this. The previously released Swedish tracks are really only suited to lower-powered cars whereas Anderstorp will have much wider appeal.
First thing I noticed. Multi-class... It wouldn't be in the screenshot(?) if it wouldn't be immediately available after today's patch... Or will it be in the "very very soon" league? And what about the beautiful FRX-17... Questions, questions, questions... @Georg Ortner
