I have made changes to the driver cams on all cars to get some "Real Head Motion" feeling. Until now that has worked perectly, but with DTM2015 I no longer can find which file to change. It seems it's not using the 2014 driver cam file. It feels like my head is bolted directly to the chassies and driving over curbs just messes up my vision. For those of you who don't know how to do the fix: Go to \Steam\steamapps\common\raceroom racing experience\game\GameData\cars Open the car you want to change, go into Cameras folder and change these parameters on either cockpit_driver_view_triple.xml if you are on triple screen or cockpit_driver_view.xml if you are on single. Change from : <orientationSpeed type="Vector">{0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000}</orientationSpeed> To: <orientationSpeed type="Vector">{20.00000000 75.00000000 10.00000000}</orientationSpeed> It makes the world move a less and the car move instead, which makes it easier to focus on the track. My question is now if anyone knows how to fix the DTM2015 cars also?
I really like the RealHeadMotion-Plugin and i'm using it all the time in rFactor2. So may i ask if you could share your updated cameras? I would change the cam files by myself, but why reinvent the wheel.
Yes, I use that on rF/rF2/AC/SCE and just cannot drive without it. iRacing has got that movement just right and pCars can get it quite OK. I have only done the mod on the triple screen files, so if you are on a single you will have to do it by your self. I can create a zipfile which has both the modified version and the original and post it here.
Thanks, that was a great idea. I have TrackIR , but only use it for flight sims as I don't like that kind of movement in a race sim. But I just disabeled all axis and don't even need to use the clip and it works just like real head motion. I know real head motion actually uses the trackir feature, but never thought that I could use trackir the same way. That fixes the problems with AC also as RHM is currently broken there, but TiR is working.
According to this: https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/new-cameras-dtm-experience-2015.3177/ They're located in: Audi_RS_5_DTM_2014, BMW_M4_DTM, mercedes_amg_c63_dtm
I think you are talking of two different things. @F19_CoNa I think you mean Lock to Horison? And @Ernie probably mean Look to Apex?
@F19_CoNa thank you for the inspiration... it gives the car more life. For myself , I use the following settings... the difference is awesome! <orientationSpeed type="Vector">{10.00000000 50.00000000 5.00000000}</orientationSpeed>
I tested to change the cockpit_driver_view_triple.xml in those, and nothing happens, but if there are new cameras as default driver cams, I just need to know which one is the correct one.
My view in DTM 2015 was already changed, I think DTM 14 and 15 share the same cockpit. Have you tried to just take them for a spin?
Ah ok. Then i have to edit the files by myself, because i'm using a single screen. Thanks anyway. No, not Look to Apex. I mean this -> Plugin Real Head Motion
Ah okay sorry, thought you meant this one.. Edit: Looking at this video again I actually see no real difference between the comparisons, both seem to have look to apex.. But I don't notice any lock to horizon on any of them.
Not really a good video to showcase the RHM-plugin. The video has a lot of look-to-apex enabled by default. Here's an example video of the plugin developer, which describes the effect much better. It has a look-to-horizon effect, but not that strict, because the plugin simulates the inertia of the head and the sight-stabilizing effect of the eyes.
Just realized that it's just the AMG that has the problem, and only on 2015 version. So probably something wrong with the file. Can someone post their cockpit_driver_view_triple.xml ?
