So I have been without a video card for many weeks now as the 5 year old ATI HD 7970 died on me...

I think I am gonna get either some 980 GTX Ti or the GTX 1070 as you can see here

    http://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu

they are 4th and 5th in ranking. I cant afford the 1080 for now, its too much. Though the 980 GTX Ti and 1070 are far from cheap either but I cannot stretch beyond these.

So do you suggest any online respectable web sites where they ship international? I cant really find the GTX 980 Ti, out of stock in most places, and trying to find a good price for the 1070.

Ideally Europe (Germany has the best shipping to my country) as the rest I would need pay extra tax...

    Thanks!! :)

I got a r9 280 3gig sitting in a box somewhere which you'd be welcome to have but I expect that shipping it would be a pain

Hi Stefan, I can recommend the GigaByte 1070 G1 Gaming: it's pretty fast out of the box, overclocks really well and has an excellent tri-fan cooler.

I've ordered lots of stuff through the Belgian webshop of Alternate and never had problems with them: good service and fast delivery times. They have numerous webshops in Europe, in Germany and Italy amongst others:

    www.alternate.de
    www.alternate.it

They ship all throughout Europe, not sure if that includes Malta though.

Uhh, Malta is a problem I think, most German retailers don't ship there afaik. Not sure bout alternate (Germany) either, tho I think alternate (Italy) should, it'd be a bit of a joke if they didn't.

Just looked it up, private shipping to Malta would cost 17 €. If that'd result in a total saving I'd have no problem with you ordering the thing and having it sent to my address and then me forwarding it to you. You can trust the old agitator...:smilingimp:

But alternate.it might be the easier choice then, Golden Sample there: https://www.alternate.it/Gainward/G...S-Scheda-grafica/html/product/1280586?lk=5037

got meself a gigabyte extreme gaming 1070 about 3 months ago, has the highest clock speeds of a 1070. Thought i read somewhere that in performance it sits between a 1070 and a standard 1080. Have been very happy with it. Has more grunt than my prior 780sli setup

If you want to save some money you can find some 1070 refurbished on Amazon.
Best way to have one for less than 400€

I clocked my G1 just a tad faster than the Xtreme, at 1697/9200 stable, so you could save yourself some money there. But it's still over 500 at the moment though...
