    Hi there,
i am thinking about getting a 34 inch ultra wide monitor with 3440x1440 resolution. It would definitly be an IPS monitor, because i will also be doing some photo editing. But mostly it will be racing in R3E, assetto corsa and pcars.
I have a Nvidia GTX 970, the games don't have to be at ultimate settings. Right now with a 1920x1200 resolution i have about 100-120 fps in R3E.
So my question is: do i need g-sync with a 3440x1440 monitor and a GTX970 for a pleasant gaming experience? LG screens seem to be quite good, but don't support g-sync, Acer has g-sync, but is a lot more expensive.
    What do you think?

I recently got a 34 at 2560x1080 and I am quite satisfied, if you can afford gsync why wouldn't you go for it, I choosed to save money instead and I have no regrets the monitor is awesome

    Thanks for your thoughts.
I think my system specs are ok. 16GB RAM DDR4, Core i7-6700, SSD.
I just tried a 3840x2160 27 inch screen, but i was not happy with it. At 4k i got micro lags, fps was ok, thats why i started thinking about g-sync. But this combination is 1200 Dollar realen expensive.
2560x1080 would not be enough for me.
So i think, i will just give the LG a try.
