Not to swap topic towards business model, but offline brings in piracy.

Piracy wont be stopped and we all know that, other members who dont own the legal copy wouldint be able to do things that we could.

Well, I believe RaceRoom is the only game that doesnt have illegal content being used in the game, nor does it have any of its own content stolen and converted to other games... No other sim can say that. So, being online definitely plays a role in that.

Edit: Well, perhaps iRacing can also say that, since I have no idea about whether their content is ripped elsewhere or not.

It's not 1980 there can be a solution which safeguards copyright but does not cripple the software to the point we cannot even have single player unless internet is connected. That is draconian & totally unnecessary. Denuvo is one option if publisher is so bothered but causing the legitimate user such inconvenience of not being able to play is not acceptable imho.

The game should just do an integrity check every few days and lock the user out of the game if something doesn't seem right. Not only is the current setup inconveniencing people who have spent a lot of money on the game, but its also turning away potential customers of the game as well. This game might not be pirated but it sure has a hell of a lot less players than most the other sims.

Ok we have DTM demo for offline, why just not make this possibilites in RRRE ? Not whole content, but all free content with possibilities to play offline.

I agree but then as some one else said make it so that the program checks from time to time if you own the key and stuff

Yes, I'd have no problem with that, if it helps to reduce piracy, but having to be online the whole time is annoying

I can assure you the devs are fully aware of these concerns. They certainly dont like having server downtime and people that cant play their game... let alone working to get their servers back up and running on the weekends, or holidays, or any other inconvenient time...

However, Im not sure they are the ones that can make this call.

If you might set some skillpoints to your archeological abilities and then start digging in the sediments of this forum, you will find tons of relicts according to this topic.;)
As you can see devs beeing online almost without cease, I think they are aware of this.
And as @nate mentioned, it might not be their competence.

But then this only proves that the publisher who can make the change is not listening or does not think anyone is all that bothered or upset by it. They need to know that the issue has not changed or receded over time and now new users such as myself and others are in the next wave of agitators for change because we expect better. Not to mention the devs who, as you say, work weekends and overtime to keep the servers running ... that is definitely not good for them or an optimal way to run a business by todays standards. Sometimes stubborn people need to hear people yelling at them insistently before they take real notice, unfortunately.
