The other day, I was doing some laps at Silverstone.

Today, I couldn't seem to brake at the same places as I did in my previous sessions.
I had to extend my brake zones considerably.

By chance, I checked the in-game brake meter (in settings).
I see my throttle is reaching 100% when I press fully on my throttle pedal.
I see my Brake reaching 50% when I press fully on my brake pedal.

I haven't done anything different between my previous sessions and today.
How is my brakes suddenly only 50% when I press fully on the pedal?
Is there a new method of adjustment?

    Haven't updated any software.
Haven't made any changes to any settings.
Use the same buttons on my wheel as I normally do.
    Same wheel/pedal setup.

    Vexed!

    could be hardware :)

Maybe there's an issue with your brake pedal.
Have you checked in the windows drivers if you still have the full range for your brake pedal ?

Yeah, could be a hardware issue with your pedals :( Depending on what kind you have, there could just be a lot of dirt and debris inside the pedal housing. I know my G27 pedals were looking really scuzzy last time I cleaned them out. Once I did that though, they worked properly again.

So if your pedals are only registering your press up until half way... there may be stuff blocking the sensor.

Not that this is a good solution... but in the advanced settings of the controller settings... you can adjust deadzone for your pedals. You can set lower and upper deadzone. So, you could leave lower deadzone at 0% and set upper deadzone to 50% instead of 100%. This means that the game will only acknowledge your pedal press up until 50%. So, you will get 100% brake pressure from only pressing 50% . I believe this is how it works anyway...

Dont know if its the same, you dont say what brake pedals u r using.
I had a problem with mine, would only go 50% then fully 100% and be fluctuating all over the place, for me it was a a faulty load cell, csr elites, put a new one in this morning and can see 100% pwo in the profiler now.

do a google search for diview
its a usueful tool to see what exactly is happening , and also can keep you racing with a few tweaks to deadzones and travel: tweak it so you pedal is registering 100% etc , leave it on start the game

Thank you for all of your suggestions....and questions.

    a) T300 servo/Ferrari F1 wheel/T3PA Pro Pedals - inverted.

    b) After rebooting the computer a couple more of times, the pedals started working correctly again. Unfortunately, a non-racing game, which I have never had any issues with, started to "malfunction" as well. Reboot solved that issue too.

    c) something keeps randomly highlighting icons on my desktop. Can windows10 do that by itself?
Also, my headphone volume control started to appear on screen randomly. Then the volume turns up LOUD or the volume goes up and down - all by itself. The volume button is on my headphones, the headphones on my head with nothing touching them but my sweating ears and the baldspot the headphones are wearing on my head. :p

maybe it's a software conflict or Win10 issue? still Vexed

At least I can drive. Cya at Silverstone! :)

Stuck button on a controller, keyboard or mouse by the sounds of it, unplug everything your not using and see how it gos, try changing out the keyboard and mouse (if you have spares) as a test with all other peripherals disconnected.
