Problem Can't get RaceRoom to work

NB I'm NOT using a VR headset.
I got a VR headset (a Shinecon) and I tried to set it up but I abandoned the idea as I found it wasn't sophisticated enough. But, since then, I can't get RaceRoom to work.
I've tried everything about three weeks ago and Steam Support suggested I redownload the RaceRoom game. I did and it's a huge file over 30Gig. I finished downloading it on 31 Oct 2018 but the game still doesn't work.
I still get error 100 and RaceRoom refuses to start. It comes up after a few minutes over the graphic which includes the word "START". I click "OK" which is my only choice and RaceRoom shuts back down.
I'm going mental.
I've had numerous conversations with Steam Support but they couldn't find the solution. Please someone help.
You can tell me what error code 100 is and go from there. To clarify: it's "OpenVR error code: 100"
I'm desparate not playing RaceRoom. It's been a month now that I've had this problem.

Do you have any launch options set in steam for raceroom ? e.g. -vr as a launch option ?

 

Hi Andy I don't think so. I'll check. Should it be set to happen or not?

as in the picture above , make sure you do not have any launch options set at all !

 

found it and removed all. now, I'm getting this att.

 

just try restart steam first ?
