DTM 13 - getting damage warning near end of each race

After about 10 minutes racing, I always get the warning indicator that look like a gear cog with a '!' in the middle, although I haven't noticed any car performance decrease. I'm thinking this is a engine problem right? My drive style is to change gears as the rev counter hits the red range. Is this the problem and should I be shifting in the yellow instead?

 

Auto clutch?

 

auto clutch is off, I do blip on downshifts tho

 

Blipping isn't enough to prevent transmission damage in r3e

 

so what is? I do use button clutch on downshift blips, but not on upshifts.

 

Ah, I thought you were just shifting with no clutch and auto clutch off. As far as I know you're doing it correctly

 

ok, but as I say I'm not using clutch for upshifts. Is correct technique to use clutch and lift throttle on upshifts?
