I recall at one time dx11 was been looked at from the RRE devs.Is that dead in the water?? I hope not, as it would breath much more life into this sim.I dread RRE going to a new engine, sure it may bring weather/ day,night but at the same time bring higher graphic performance demands and all other kinds of issues that come with a whole new product.
That's funny. I was just thinking this same thing last night while playing. I did a few laps in ACC and was getting 40-50 fps (even solo lapping). I like ACC but move to RaceRoom when I want more/different cars/tracks quite often. RaceRoom runs 120fps no problem, but obviously with a hit to polished graphics and car models. I'm actually quite content with RaceRoom graphics- with a few things that could be improved here and there (squishy looking mirrors). System specs are 4790k + gtx 980 running 1440p 34" ultrawide.
