Hello, we just purchased a new laptop, and tried installing RaceRoom. We could play the game once, had an update recently, and since then the game does not start. We just get an error message: Fatal error: Invalid WebBrowser Texture, and after clicking ok, we get the error message: Game crashed. Could anyone help? Thanks in advance!
Hi Im having the same Problem ... i havent even played it once ... i think this game is not worth trying to start it :/
We have an intel i5-6300 running Windows 10, and NVidia GeForce GTX 950M Graphics processor. The laptop is quite new, although we have downloaded all the drivers for it that we know of. And the game did run a couple of days ago.
Hey guys, @clouds @Alaska @Ledrow @ruiteotonio in the Topic "Crash" was another user that had the same-Problem with the webbrowser-texture. That user added the Option "-cefNoGPU" in the Steam Launch-Options and that solves his problems. Please try if that solves your problem, too. How to set Launch-Options in Steam: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1040-JWMT-2947&l=english
The Problem is very common especially with Laptop-Users as modern laptops often have two Graphic-cars. A slower integrated and a seperate mobile-Version from Nvidia and AMD. That seems to cause the trouble. In case of the Nvidia-Cards you often have to force the use of that Card within the Nvidia-Driver-Settings, too.
If you're experiencing the Web browser texture error it usually is because your graphics card does not support some hardware acceleration techniques that we use in our menus. There is an easy workaround for this problem. Just follow these steps: Right Click on the game in the steam library. Click "properties." Click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." Enter -cefNoGPU -cefNoBlacklist in the text field. Make sure you type it exactly like this, including the dashes "-". Click Ok. Start the game. This will have disabled the hardware acceleration and should allow you to start the game without issue.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with 2 Graphics cards and was having the same problem. I tried to find the target even before launching the game at first with GeForce Experience but couldn't find the target. The Launch Option setting did the trick though.
