I have a thrustmaster t300 rs wheel which has a number of its own ffb gain settings including overall gain. Raceroom also has a setting for overall gain. Which setting has priority ?

You should keep the Thrustmaster Control panel settings to default. That's what the in-game profile is based on. So TM control panel gain at 75 means, that your wheelbase makes use of 75% of its maximum torque, when the game sends a 100% signal. Although, I personally have that driver value set to 90% without any overheating issues for quite some time now using the forced fan on my own T300. Here's a nice read regarding ffb https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/from-old-to-new-ffb-tips-info.17116/

Thanks for the info and the link explained a lot of things. I still wonder about the relationship between wheel and in game settings for other sims.
