    Hi everyone. :)

I've finally got back to RaceRoom after being away for a year and a bit. What a fantastic game it still is.

Now don't get me wrong as there's nothing wrong with the existing graphics. But I'm wondering if there is anyone here who would know if there are any plans to upgrade the graphics in the near future?

I'm just thinking that an upgrade would really complement the GPU's of today.

Maybe it's not something that can be done without completely re-writing the engine. I just don't know. But if it's possible to better them without it changing the game play then yeah, I'm for it! :)

Anyone else feel the same way?

    Thanks in advance. :)

My thinking (contradiction of terms) is RR will go full U4 very closely after GT3's release, so summer of 2018.

GT3 will get a short honeymoon period on release then full directX 11 glory for us all, else we'll all p**s off to Simbin!

Honestly said, I cannot make myself caring for this graphics engine replacement. What there is now, still looks sweet as candy to these eyes of mine.

Are there further improvements that can be made with VR and the DX9 engine or is the current release pretty much it? If that's it, I hope they can get to the U4 engine sooner than later. If there is still more optimization to be had, DX9 may work out just fine.

I don't think there are a lot more things to do with DX9.The only significant thing is reflection fixes and thats pretty much it.So, better wait for the UE4 (DX12, pls...).

Gran Turismo Sport Beta vs RaceRoom

Unreal 4 engine??? If RaceRoom looks like Gran Turismo Sport Beta one day, I will sell my R3E account ! GT Beta has an absolutely shitty unrealistic graphics (very similar to the first UE4 engine screenshots of GTR3 / R3E)... 100% comic style ... omg!!! Disgusting!!!:confused::confused:

Hope dx11 than dx12, because only windows 10 users have dx12. So if they go on DX12, lot of users can't go on the new R3E (me in my case)

there are possibilities to use both... that's only one benefit to have a modern engine...

In Assetto the color rendering can be changed, so why wouldn't that be possible with UE4.
R3E is just getting old, it looks good for its time, but newer games just look better.

GT Sport has garbage trackside, especially tress, but overall lightning and colour is much better.

I'd be happy to see an engine change just for vr improvement. It sounds like it's maxed out in dx9.

Rf2 is looking good now in dx11. I have put more hours on raceroom than any sim I have ever had but now that rf2 looks good will be spending a majority of my time there now until I have a need to race here again. It just has so many features and now that the gfx look good I am there. I am only using the dx11 content.

Yeah. As said... there's nothing wrong with the graphics as they are. But still... they could be so much better these days. ;)

R3E wants a new look? Ok, here are some reference pics of Wreckfest (great engine much better than UE4):
