Hi, I have a g29... bought for my ps4 and now use with r3e... my question is, if I were to get a h-shifter, could I use say gears 3 and 4 and put an elastic band round it to make it a sequential shifter? I've seen this done for dirt rally but wanted to know if it works for r3e too... obviously don't want to buy one if it doesn't... I just want to use a shifter if the car has it, rather than paddles... Thanks Dan
Yepp, that'll work. I used to do the same using rubber bands on my old G27. IMHO it makes the WTCC cars shine.
It's working, but you can get a really perfect feedback with "Hiconverter". It's hand made spanish sequential converter with great springs and quality stuff. You can check it here: http://hiconverter.com/ I got mine years ago and I'm completely satisfied. You just have to open the top of the gearbox, and put this in, close it, and that's it ! And if sometimes springs makes grinding sounds, just put a little bit of oil on it and it's fine for a long time ! Great thing with this one is that springs are making a great resistance when passing gears and it feels great ! Also, you just have to switch to longer screws that come with the order, and great fact is that instead of putting an elastic on the gearbox wich is not beautiful at all, you just have to close the gearbox and it looks like the vanilla gearbox. Also, metal pieces on side are blocking the knob axis to only stay on 3-4 gears axis Only thing is that screws are cruciform instead of nice vanilla Allen screws, but you still can search for buying better screws I guess. However, it's not essential. Not enough known mod !
Hmm... I had heard about this... I have ordered the shifter and some longer hex head screws. I might give it a go with the other ring to start... where do you get the nice mod part from? Thanks Dan
