    @Anthony Monteil :
I was playing Race 07 the other night, another game with good sounds!
Although R3E is superior, there was one sound I really enjoy in Race 07 thats almost non existent in R3E.
And that is the actual sound from gearing, when I put in a gear there is almost no sound of the gear jerk into place..
Like this clicking sound when he puts in first gear of this old BMW:

Especially needed in the older cars for obvious resons.
Was looking in the sound options for it, but I only found Gear whine..
Would really want an option to raise the actual jerk sound as well! :)

That's something we didn't think about when we added some menu sliders.

Also, we fixed a bug that was present since the first SimBin games : the engine was playing very loud while shifting , which produced a very annoying sound depending on the car model, and that was often hiding the actual gearshift sound.

After that bugfix, I reajusted all the gearshifts volumes , but the gearshift might sound weaker than it used to be, it's also more realistic in my opinion.

I'm not sure if we should add a slider for the gearshift sound but we will discuss it internally.

    more sliders = better.:p
add a slider for every sound individually (or maybe let us play with the cfg files)

    Thanks for your answer Anthony!!
In my own car I first have a muffled sound when the gear is displaced.
Then followed by two rapid more distinct sounds, one in the middle (probably from the gear stick finding it's way into the shaft, a more metallic sound) and then the final jerk click when the gear gets in place. (I have no idea of what I'm talking about here, but I guess you know what I mean) :D

I'm aware that this actual sound wouldn't come through and be heard with the engine roaring in a real race car.
But it's a sound that I find pleasure in hearing.
It gets me excited/wound up to hear that clicking / jerking sound, especially when I'm in a battle or on the way to do an overtake.
It's a sound of my racing motivation if that make sense?.. :)

The lack of this sound is really noticeable when you yank in first gear, when the engine isn't doing much noise.
Or better, turn of the engine and work through the gears.
The sound is really low and in many cases no sound at all... .
Would be much appreciated to get a slider for this!! :)

After some more testing I might have had a bug with the gear sound of the Volvo 240 on that track when I noticed this. (can't remember which track it was)
But only heard the gear sound on occasions when the engine was off.

Most of the cars I now tested have a good sound on gearing without the engine running, and also when the first gear is yanked.
But still, a slider to get it a bit louder / noticeable when driving would be really nice! :)

hm, maybe something that comes up with the drive-train-elasticity or with an update later? I'm not sure but I had the feeling that something was missing in the sound during the gearing what we had before.

Ok, I got it, I think we muted the gearshift sounds for the turbo cars when not rolling, because it sounded weird to hear the dumpvalve when the car is stopped :D

Do you think it will be possible to get a slider for this in the future?

And then I have another sound question.
On the cars with ABS, there are no sound from that under heavy braking?
The cars I have driven and braked so that the ABS have been activated, the sound of the ABS working have been a quite loud, fast rattling / banging sound.

What cars did you drive? I'd like to hear that sound , do you have any video link where I could hear it clearly ? thanks ;)

Maybe on older car with old and "rubish" ABS system...
The minimal ABS system does release/apply quickly the pressure on the brake causing rattling (that you can feel on the brake pedal).. it can be noisy.
Now ABS are more soften and subtle, you may only feel little vibration on the pedal.

Well,, we could surely add some ABS noise but we would also need to feel some vibrations in the wheel, otherwise it's pointless.
But I'm not so sure the ABS sound is so obvious into racing cars though. We could ask some drivers about it .

As for the gearshift volume slider, I'll suggest it internally and we'll see if it's approved or not . ;)

Put it into the shared memory ! So we can use simevibe to have the vibration ;)
Vibration in the wheel can already be done for fanatec wheel but it's tight to the brake pressure, not the ABS action... There's already a settings "Brake" in the FFB menu, not sur how it's relate to the ABS as I don't use it (not realistic at all :p )
