This is without a doubt, along with DTM 1992, easily my favourite serie in R3e. Those cars are so awesome with brutal power and no electronics, still easily controllable but needs your attention all the time Anyways, as Fabcar is coming soon i think it's good time to start think about next Gr5 add-on to stay with it's speed. I think BMW M1 turbo would perfect opponent to it: What do you guys think? I hope eventually we will get most of the icons like Lancia Beta, Ford Escort Zakspeed, Toyota Celica etc...
The BMW 320 Turbo G5 is a different class? That thing is a beast!! Very fun to tame it though. That thing will spin going dead straight if you give it too much gas.
No, it's the same Gr5 class but as Fabcar is newer and more powerful i think it will be faster than both Capri and 320T. But i agree, 320, just like Capri is awesome car and simply great fun to drive. Hopefully it will have some kind of graphical interior "overhaul" tought, to bring cockpit same level to Capri and incoming Fabcar.
The pictures of Lancia and M1 just make me raise hairs on arms and hair on the head It would be great if they joined the Gr.5 class
Yes, Lancia Beta looks good and would be great opponent to 320T and Capri. Hopefully we have them all some day. By the way, do anyone know if rest of the Gr5 cars will receive updated physics once Fabcar is out or are they already up to date?
My hopes for Group 5 are perhaps a bit too ambitious. I think the years that the cars are spanning is expanding, especially with the Fabcar (even if it is a de-facto Porsche). The BMW of this era is probably a bit early for the other cars we're talking about, so I'd love to see this split into either D1 and D2 or early and late era, so: Early: - BMW 320 - Zakspeed Ford Escort - Kremer K3 (hopefully they would allow a similar license to Fabcar, although probably not - but the K3 is sooo much prettier than the '84 version!) Late: - Zakspeed Ford Capri - BMW M1 - Fabcar 935 - Kremer K4 - Nissan Skyline/Silvia - Lancia Beta Back down to earth, I'm wondering if the Greenwood Corvette pictured fits into this era? I know there was an attempt to build a Group 5 Corvette C3, but I don't have any idea which version the pictured is. For the record, my favourite Group 5 footage are these glorious DRM races at the Norisring:
As far as I know the Group5-Cars will get the physics-Update together with the Fabcar-Update... Here another potential competitor for our american fans... The Ford Mustang Gr.5, raced in the IMSA-Series... rather close to the Capri...
So many great cars in this category.... Really nice that mustang. I love the blocky 80s design Skyline> Silvia>
BMW celebrates 40th anniversary of first IMSA win this year in Concours D'elegance. Would be great timing to release IMSA winning CSL to R3E too, wouldn't it? http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1100723
I doubt will ever see a lancia Ingame...sector 3 studios seems not to be interested in Italian cars this time...they never give an answer when we ask about Italian ones (like alfa's or lancia's)
I'm a big fan of Alfa, Lancia, Ferrari and Fiat, and I'd love to see some of them in R3E (like most of my collegues here). Sadly, the licensing part is quite tricky about these brands, hence the "silence". Jay Ekkel is more qualified than me to answer this question though.
Would be nice....if not I am not against "imitations". IMO screw companies that have irrational licensing demands.
Thanks for the comments Anthony; I think we all really appreciate how transparent and open you guys are compared with most development teams, so when you don't/can't say something, we can accept it is for a good reason.
