If you had read this thread, instead of just sign on to this forum to have a rant, you knew that this will not be the case. Sorry. ;)

Everything about the game and the shop should be the same from my understanding here. So you will still have the in-game shop and can use vRp's there to buy the cars.

What is changing is logging into the game. That is all. If you play R3E very often, or even just occasionally, you probably open Steam, click on R3E, click play... and R3E launches, and you end up at the main menu of R3E. Well, between clicking play on Steam and ending up at the main menu, there is actually a log in process. You had to create an R3E account the very first time you launched the game. However, after that first time, you probably never saw that log in screen again.

Well, this change is making it so no one will ever have to use the RaceRoom log in again, because Steam will take care of that automatically for you.

Im not sure what the plans are from the devs further down the road, but this change should be fairly simple to understand. Steam will take care of logging into R3E when this patch releases. If you have 2 R3E accounts, do as Sonat mentioned above if you want to keep both of them.

For everyone else, this change to Steam logging in automatically should not noticeably affect you. Just make sure to play R3E before June 14th so your R3E account is linked to your Steam account... and then everything else will be taken care of for you.

Not sure, but it would be nice to have more of the packs appear on the Steam store page. Im not sure how other games with in-game shops handle content in Steam, but it would be difficult to have the full R3E shop on Steam, wouldnt it? Probably just easier to keep it in-game and through the web browser portal since it already works well now.

That was my face after I saw how Auto Club Revolution went to hell... :)
The developers did not want listen to us. Would pity for RRE when it would end at same way. And you can't play it if sector3 switch off the servers and your money would be gone. :D Read the EULA

I'm assuming this change also means that if for some reason I need to change my email/password at a later time via my RaceRoom profile page, this change will be communicated with Steam so that it can continue to auto-login without issue.
    Is this correct?

IF you can only login into R3E with your steam details then you will need to somehow change it in Steam. Once you can login into steam via a different email then you go playe R3E

I think when I spend over 100euro for cars/tracks, they should develop it for s bit longer than couple months :)

Me too still has inhibations for this modern digital sales and license-only business doing. I pay for stuff: I want to own it then and not depend on external sources allowing me to use it, and if they broke down, I cannot use it. DVD-installation for me anytime, therefore. For the same reason I do not like Steam in principle, and do not buy ebooks, only printed books. The printed book cannot be taken away from me, not without the police raiding my home. The ebook can be deleted from the reader when the company HQ withdraws it - and it happens indeed that this gets done.It even gets mentioned in the small print of Amazon, for example.

Its also one of the main reasons I have turned my back on Microsoft and Windows, Google, and many others. I do not even use - or own - a smartphone. A simple 10 years-old cellphone in my drawer, battery and sim card taken out, maintained once or twice a year, just kept for emergencies - thats all. Oh, and it does what it should do. It connects to the number I dialed in. :)

The digital world has many temptations and traps, but lures you into ever growing dependency from factors you have no influence and no control over. And needing to live at somebody else's mercy, is dangerous, and a stupid "strategy". Maybe the greatest danger here is the replacement of cash currency with digital currency, since this makes citizens totally defenceless against ever more surveillance, sniffing and especially plundering by the corrupt and debt-ridden state: you cannot protect your property anymore.

You could as well get yourself chipped. The line around your neck may be digital only, non-material - but it is real, it can do real damage - and it is somebody else beyond your reach holding it and deciding your fate. Track data won to profile you, may backfire against you not before just ten or twenty years later: under circumstances you now even cannot imagine. Once your movement data are out in the wild, you never will win back control over them, not your over data about your living habits, your social contacts, everything that allows conclusions about what you like and like not, do and do not, think, feel, prefer. Servile minds may not feel worried by this. But I am not a servile man, but was born free, nobody's property. These data sets are treasure chests, for business, for insurance companies, for employers. And they are going to go for them. Not to mention the state's ever craving for ever more control and paternalism and power over its subjects. Legally or non-legally, it makes no difference: these datasets will find their ways into right those hands that you do not want to have them. Do not be naive, nobody, do not have illusions here.

Too many young people do not understand this, having grown up with Steam and online communities, never having experienced dictatorship and state tyranny. And of the adult people, too many socialist mindsets out there who do not even want to understand this.

It really must be me because i do not understand a single thing about this account stuff. Does this mean that R3E uses my steam account instead of the R3E account to login? And if so, why is this important?

It's only relevant to the mentioned group of players either sharing an account or using more than one R3E account over the same Steam profile. Everyone else won't notice a thing. If you ask me, people here get way too much excited about it (and also get wrong ideas like they'll be playing offline in the future or more content is coming to the Steam store which all has nothing to do with this).
