    Hey there,
I´m new in SimRacing and I´m currently doing the first steps.

Yesterday I tried to do some assignments of the keyboard.

    What I´m wondering:
I cannot assign keys that need a modifier key.
By accident I changed the "brake balance" and tried to bring it back to "["...but how ?
If I doubleclick the field to enter the key and press then "ALT GR" to get the "[" only the "ALT" is in the assignment....

    I´m using a german keyboard.

    Where is my mistake ?

    Regards
    Sven

AltGr on European keyboards usually don't work in setting up shortcuts.
This is a general thing, not just in R3E.

Presumably it has something to do with the ASCII coding, but for a more fulfilling answer you'll have to talk to someone smarter than me. :)
I'd simply reassign the needed keys.

Well I tried to reassing, but to get the [ I have to press ALT-GR....

But also ALT and SHIFT have the problem...so can anyone confirm, that modifier keys cannot be used for key assignments ?

Maybe I can change the settings in the settings file ?!?

Just change them to whatever the key is that has the [ on it. The other option would be to scrap the profile and start fresh.

    Hey David,
as mentioned: the default was [, but to do this on a german keyboard I need a modifier.
And this seems to be not possible.

So if I want to assign the bracket, the problem is, that it is on the key "8"...but "8" is already assigned.....
Maybe it´s now a bit clearer.

    So the main question is:
Can anyone confirm that the modifier keys (SHIFT, ALT, ALT-GR) cannot be used for key assignments and if this is by incident or accident?

Ok, I get you. I cant answer the modifier question but it is unlikely since keys such as shift are counted in their own right. I suggest you just pick 2 other keys to use as your brake bias. Any 2 that are free will do.
