Dear creator-gods Raceroom Racing Experience, At first, huge compliments to Sector-3 Studio's developers for creating the best Racing-Sim ever! Best car psychics, most accurate track-layouts, etc. (You know what I mean) I really like this game, It's my number one Sim, but I've encountered some issues within the game, that in my opinion, could need some attention. So could you please read this post? That would be great! I've already noticed some complaining on the forum and Ingame by users in general, me included, but especially from my Dad.. He's 64 years of age and he plays only RaceRoom, because he's a true "Get Real" Race fanatic! So we were racing together on the RR-server last night on our home-build, fully adjustable, tripple screens setup race-simulator, when after the race, he gave me a call, starts telling me he's quiting RaceRoom, and was not amused at all, because he had to start from the pitlane every race, and complaining about the "minor" issues written below. His eyes aren't that good enymore, I must say, but still I've got like 20/20 vision, and even for me it's hard to read sometimes. He's also not to good with computers and programs, so he just wants it to function. Overall: Ingame overlays, session or settings menu are a bit small, could be larger Mini-data display to small, fuel consumption amound unreadable, especially in red Ingame Chat and masseges letters to small or wrong colour. Pitstop: Pit-menu bit to small Pitstop menu "safe" fuel amound unreliable Fuel consumption amound unreadable Fuel amound not correct to given laps in Setup menu Pitstop preset unreliable While racing: Randomly starting from Pitlane, one minute penalty. Why? Track-limits Penalty's to harsh, and way to long. Even when pushed from the track by other vehicle without blaim, driver recieve a time penalty. Solution sugestions: 1. Only give time-penalty cut-track when actually gaining time on the opposite, by doing so. 2. Give a first-time warning, second or third time a drive through, or a ten second something time-penalty after the race is finished. 3. A Pit-Entry breaking zone to avoid speeding in Pitlane 4. Ingame Chat and masseges letters maybe dark grey, or outlined? 5.I play on tripple monitor setup, with a resolution 3840x1024, so the menu gets a bit to small, leaving distorted unreadeble numbers on the fuel amound. Not a big problem, but the menu only uses one single monitor in the middle, so I think sizable menu's overlays solves the problem I think a lot drivers just want to race, and are getting tired of these harsh penalty's. There's no chance to catch up with the pack or have a reasonable result, despite the penalty's been given, after Practice, Qualifying, etc. It's just Game-Over..frustrating Lots leave the game because of these sometimes unreasonable penalty's, and not coming back anymore I've played Racingsims over twenty-five years, and started playing this game for a while now. It's great, and I enjoy every bit of it! The Updates you Guys perform are excellent, and it can really make a difference. Thanks! Best regards, Jeremy Mook
hm, I have no problems with the size of the Huds or Menus and didn't necessarily want them to be bigger, but understand that it might be a problem while driving on smaller Monitors with high resolutions. I guess sizable Overlays would do the trick for that. I wonder a bit about your problem with starting from the Pits... I never had that. But you have pressed the "Start-Race"-Button in the Menu (not sure about the English name as my Menu is in German) during the Garage-Phase between Quali and Race?
Hello, and thanks for the reply!..I think the resolution is the issue indeed, I play on tripple monitor setup, with a resolution 3840x1024, so the menu gets a bit to small, leaving distorted unreadeble numbers on the fuel amound. Not a big problem, but the menu only uses one single monitor, so yes I think sizable menu's solves the problem to..also the same with the driver names in the top of the screen during race.. hardly readeble. Pressing the "Race" butten solves the problem with the pit-penalty for now..only I had like two times it did'nt..weird Grtz Jer
Make sure in one minute window before race, you escape out to the race menu, so you can actually click "race" Perhaps they need a button that shows in race view for those that never go back to race menu.
Yepp - that would be helpful and would clarify the process a bit more... hm, not sure why, but sometimes I was put in the menu automatically during the garage-phase and sometimes I see myself sitting in the car in the pits while the time is ticking down. There I musst press ESC to enter the Menu.
Yeah there are a few things they need to chance..If you can make a game like this, it looks like a minor issue they can fix frustrating
From my pov the best/failsafe option would be to make the 60 second pop-up at the top of the screen the actual 'go to race' button, so it says "xx seconds to start, click here to go to the grid", sth like this. But of course it should always put you back to the menu main page when the session switches, so there's sth not working as it should it seems.
Unfortunately I can't provide you the Screenshots as I can't play till next saturday... But maybe some of the others can Provide you some Screens? @Rella @Joeks @Christian Göpfert @ElNino @Not Lifting Off I just can explain what I've seen so far. I have two different behaviors after switching into the Garage-Phase: and I guess normal: The Quali ends, the switch to Garage-Phase appear and I end Up in the Menu, in which I can change the Setup and start the Race I've been putted in the Pit, sitting in the car. I saw the Countdown ticking down, but nothing else. After Pressing ESC I reach the Menu for changing Setup and starting the Race Maybe it is Track-Dependend? I definitely remember a Race in Spa, in which I was sitting in the Pits during the Garage-Phase and the Menu was not opening automatically. Yesterday in a Race in Macau the Menu opens automatically (both GTR3).
@Hannes Wallstedt Managed to get a Screenshot for the Garage-Phase while sitting in the Pits (Case 2. from my post before)
Well i can say the transition from qually to race seems\is fine for me, probably only gone through 5 event transitions, not played too much recently, only one time have i been in placed in the pits at the start, i hit exit which took me to the normal pit menu where the counter was counting down, hit race and everything went as you would expect. As MB says above (maybe track dependent) the one transition where i started in the pits was Spa. For me, normal, with either of the starts wether ive been dumped in the pits or back to menu, it looks exactly how i would expect it to.
Pitlane start tonight at RB Ring, on the grid at countdown and for gridwalk, race starts im dumped in the pits with a 60 sec delay. Totally different to what happened above.
And again tonight except this time at the end of qually, transition to countdown im dumped in the pits with 60 on the clock just like the post 2 up, hit esc takes me to normal settings\setup screen with the counter counting down as normal, hit race and everything went as normal!!!!!
