Having a limited amount of time to spend on it, i've no idea about online interacting with others players races atm. For myself, i often look for the combo where a given car feeling are well compounded with the track turns types, with no particular category preference. In some combo, i found more simple to be pulled into trying improve laptime (single practice). Then being curious to compare with others (competitions). Trying to drive with other cars (single player AI races or multiplayer). And if the experience flow feels engaging at all steps, being curious to try to subscribe to a dated race competition (championship). for the combo above i found myself, after a long pause, being pleasantly pulled into improve laptime at first 2 steps at the moment, that's all.
