Maybe s3s could consider making AI "scriptable" or a native plugin interface which could allow the plugin to implement any script/no-script system it wants? It doesn't need to expose R3E's own AI system, but could allow people to write their own. Been contacted by some fellow programmers who had interest in the task, but wondered which racing game actually allowed this and afaik there is none. However as was mentioned in the past the main issue with all this is probably lack of time to create proper interfaces given the sparse resources, rather than not wanting to do it. It's a bit of a long shot, since one never knows if someone actually comes up with a good AI in the end, whether it's worth the effort. But just wanted to kick the idea out. There is so many things people are creative with their favorite games, this may be another opportunity that would be within a rather "controlled" environment of the game.
