I myself have ordered a load cell mode to the G27 . I hope this will make my braking more consistent, something I have problems with now and I often lock the wheels. Have you made a mod, or are you satisfied with the stuff as they are? Tell us about your experience!
I broke my leg 3 years ago, and the load cell requires to much pressure. My old bones cannot take it. Lol
I got a load cell from ricmotech. I've been using it about 3 weeks or so. Takes a bit of getting used to and a bit of setting up but once you become familiar with the way it works it definitely feels good. I will however mention I was already using a nixem(sp) spring conversion before that and it does work very well again once you set it up and get used to it. If you do get a load cell make sure you read the calibration instructions and take bit of time to set up. I can give you my settings for R3E to help you start. I did notice that it does take a couple of hours use for the supplied rubber to "bed in" a little before it becomes consistent. Hope this helps.
I started out with stock G27 pedals, which suck. Then upgraded to the GTeye spring, which really didn't do much difference from the stock spring. Finally, I installed the Nixim spring and rubber mod, which is still in place. I can recall a flaming discussion between the manufacturers of these two mods, so hopefully I won't be flamed for saying this, but the Nixim is superior to the GTeye. In every way. You really need that rubber buffer for the last stage, no spring alone can reproduce that effect. When adjusted properly, I was finally able to heel-and-toe, which is pretty much a must for me loving classic cars. Not that I'm any good at it, but with the Nixim mod it's fairly easy to apply the right braking pressure while heel-and-toeing, which is completely impossible with the stock spring. And also pretty much impossible with the GTeye, for me at least. Haven't gone for the load cell mods (yet) because I understand that they will often result in a very hard brake pedal with little travel, which doesn't suit my kind of driving. But who knows, modding and cockpit building live their own lives which are difficult to predict.
Using right stick of my pad for acceleration (up) and braking (down) so I went with "smth else". Not really a button as it is analogue (and works quite well )
BTW, you are going to need the pedal solidly mounted. 75lbs of pressure to get full load. I took my pedals out of the plastic housing they come in and bolted them straight the rig pedal mount. Only three holes to drill on the mount and the pedals are ready to take bolts as standard. When you have everything apart to fit the LC27 a really good move is to replace the throttle spring with the old brake spring. The standard throttle spring can only be described as a "whee bit". It will feel really weird at first to have such a firm throttle but after 20 minutes you will be wishing you had done it ages ago. Once you get your 'cell installed let me know and I will give you my settings.
This mod will be quit easy i have already mounted my pedals hanging in my rig and all pedals is mounted on a adjustable section which is quit easy to remove. I did that because i thought my kids would like to drive... But they didn't.. I will move the spring from the brake to the clutch and the spring from the clutch to the gaspedal.
Yea, it kinda is... And you can even mod those sticks: http://www.kontrolfreek.com/ I was wondering if I could manage to create a load cell mod for gamepads.
I have a 3 year old, overused stock T3PA... You can imagine, everytime I drive it sounds like I'm slaughtering the world's entire guinea pig population. But I'm planning on updrading to load cells sometime next year.
