R3E updates - what gets deleted or reset?

I was in the middle of an off line championship during the latest update. My championship seems to be gone. So, I assume that the update reset or deleted the file(s) keeping track of my progress. Is that correct?

What else gets reset? For instance, as I prefer to use Adaptive AI, I also had trained AI for each track in my custom championship (and other tracks) before beginning. Are those files also reset -- will I need to re-train AI from scratch again with each update issued?

I dont believe the update deletes anything like what you are describing.

I have seen some other reports that championships were deleted somehow... but that isnt supposed to happen and I do not know why it would.

Your Adaptive AI file though will likely never be deleted unless you do that manually. So all your 'trained AI' will still be the same as before :)

But surely if there's AI tweaks as per this (and most) patches then the adaptive file would need to be redone again? As the AI won't be "trained" with the new changes hence they may not perform as good as they did....perhaps!

I suppose that goes into code theory, and I dont have a specific answer.

I have never deleted my AI file, and the AI has been fine for me (well, predictable as I would expect) ever since I started playing. And this is also with my AI file going through all our testing builds... So mine is likely 'dirtier' than most.

I also dont know of anyone on the testers that deletes their AI file routinely if they use the Adaptive AI.

I think official word is that you dont need to ever delete it. That is more of an advanced user thing if you are as inquisitive as @CheerfullyInsane is ;)

Indeed. However, they will still already be closer to your actual performance than a fresh file.

Not quite as simple as that.
The easiest way to reset the file is to reset all the counters to zero.
Further details will have to wait until I get back home though. I'm not typing my through that on a phone keyboard. :D

Cool thanks guys, I'm yet to properly play with the adaptive AI (still no time!) so hence the query :)

I lost all my partly completed championships in this patch as well so it is obviously an issue this time around.

Can you guys please check and see if you have any championship files downloaded from Steam Cloud (please also make sure Steam Cloud is enabled for R3E)

The cloud save files are located inside the Steam installation solder ..\Steam\userdata\yoursteamid\211500 (this is r3e's steam id\remote\championships

If you see some files can you please zip them up and attach here? Thanks.

    @MarcG @nate @Christian Göpfert
I didn't want to clutter up the thread, since there seems to be real issues with the championships.
So the answer to the index-file, and AI update can be found here.

If it was Assetto, it would have been the Black Cat.
