    You can change path of your documents folder yourself.

    FYI: Before I bought my first SSD a few years ago, I found this interesting durability experiment by TechReport: the guy started to torture a collection of SSDs by writing to them CONSTANTLY. Even the weakest competitors were pretty tough (The update articles can be found on the last page of the intro.)

    SSD durability improved further since then, I think Samsung offers 4 year warranty now on their new 860 family and the expected lifespan is about 10 years.

    Because the recorder plugin has to be either on or off when the game is launched. So even if there was an ingame option, the game would still have to quit and restart itself. In the end, not really more comfortable than using a launch parameter, especially as most people who disable it do so for performance reasons, so they will have it disabled permanently anyway.
