Ranked Event: Nürburgring 2.4H with support races!

Though isn't it true that the usual fastest subjects switch to the car they consider the fastest one during those competitions anyway (R8 for example)? No matter if they truely love it to drive or not ?
This is where the worlds of Simracing and real Motorsport collide : Imagine some contracted RL Driver going to his Boss:
Driver : "Hey Boss can we switch to another car last minute ? I can't get the setup right, the car sucks BoP wise, handling is meh generally...weeped whole night cause I don't have a chance here for the podium...!"
Boss : "Mmmmmhmm...yeah of course m8, if you have a few millions to spare from your own wallet, bring your own team and a tough sponsor..."(shaking his head, gets at his phone to invite a reliable replacement driver "last minute")
