Daytona-Dreams Start Procedure As many of you should know by now, Daytona's start grid does not favour standing starts due to it's steep, sloping gradient that causes cars to spin out off the line. To combat this issue and to promote a clean start, we'll be doing a formation lap and rolling start to the race. I'll outline the procedure here now for you to read through as well as go through the procedure before race start, during the 10 minute warm up. As a result, all participants are required to be in discord, parked in the pits, to hear the instructions I'm outlining here. Failure to be on discord for the briefing is cause for instant disqualification, you have been warned. We're running a multi class grid, Group Cs will be in the front, followed closely by the GTOs. Here's how the procedure will go: 1. When lights go green, Group Cs will slowly pull away, single file and in position and hold a speed of no more than 120 KPH or 75 MPH, GTOs will NOT MOVE off the grid at this point. 2. You will leave a gap between your car and the car in front that is safe, but also not too great as to spread the field out. 3. 15 seconds after the Group C cars have pulled away, the GTOs will then set off and follow the above procedure, safe gap, 120 KPH or 75 MPH. 4. When the pack leader reaches the final turn of the bus stop, that is the turn just before the sweeping left hander towards the start/finish line, the pack will form a double formation, one car on the left, one car on the right. 5. The race starts for the Group Cs when they cross line, the same goes for the GTOs. I'll outline this again during the 10 minute warm up session before race start.
