Is it an idea for in the dedicated server to make the option that people can also join in the warm-up session By reverse start the new-joiners will start at the and of the grid ofcourse
I think this has been mentioned before. We do run into this issue often with RD races, where there's usually two consecutive races separated by a warmup session, so anyone who gets disconnected during warmup before the first race or during the first race is basically done for the night as there's no way to reconnect
The race does not start immediately after qualifying. After the last update (or one before) there is some delay for the people who are still trying to join You can't still join when the warm-up have started.
I do'nt think so. We usually set the server that you can during qualifying. And even then we get the message that the game is waiting when people still joining. So that will be for those who are joining at the last minute. Yesterday we had a race where someone really could'nt join during the warm-up, unfortunately. Because if you start races with reverse grid or more races after each other and someone has a disconnect, they can not participate in the second (or third) race
Today somebody again kicked of during warm up session between qualifying and first race. It's to much work to restart everything because the times are setting in qualifying, so we start the race whitout that person. Please @Sector3, make it possible that people can join again during the warm-up session.
@Georg Ortner , @J-F Chardon , and again for 2 people a dissapointed evening because of failure the can't join between qualifying and the first race and between the first and second race. Why not the option for the same settings like in qualifying for choosing if the they can of can't join in qualifying session
You should just not use the warm-up session if you are having problems with it, we had that in our league too.
Well his message on 05-10 definitely seems that way changing something like this in the netcode would probably be a huge job, so i wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon. Instead you should try to find out why people are disconnecting and fixing that, one of those being the warm-up session causing people to be kicked sometimes.
The warm-up sessions don't cause problems at the moment i think. The whole discussion is that you can't join during warm-up and between races. So if you get a connection loss at the end of qualy/warm-up/race1 your whole evening and all your training goes down the drain. That's a thing they SHOULD fix.
It would be great to have more options like that, but what I'm saying is that it is very unlikely that they are going to dig through the netcode anytime soon unless something major needs to change, so you are better off trying to prevent disconnections instead on your end
I got your point As you say is disconnections always our fault I just asking for the possibility to put an option in the dedicated server for joining or not during the warm up session Or a link that it wil be always the same setting as you choose with qualfying
