Contact Shadows seem to be independent of the other shadow settings. Even with shadows 'off' they are still there with very little impact on the gpu even at 32.. So that's great. But if I turn 'on' shadows to get shadows casted by cars and track furniture, plays havoc with the cockpit and the cars themselves but looks great on the track surface, I run shadows 'off' now. The cockpit has it's own shadowing anyway, which looks fine. Will look forward to the fix though. but even without the shadows it looks smashing, I'm able to run maxed out at 90-130fps and solid vsync in the pack. So just turn the shadows off chaps for now. Runs like a dream.
