    Hello everybody,

I have a 5.1 logitech Z906 and I am looking for advice on placing the speakers (on my chassis, on a stand, far away, close to me)?

Well, it depends on your room, but ideally you would want to sit at the center point of a rectangle made up by your front left, front right, rear left and rear right speakers.

We often see speakers mounted on the chassis, it's not the optimal ?

I just have mine spread out across the area.Placement+distance doesnt make much of a difference aslong as you've configured it in the "room placement" settings of Microsoft Windows.

Make sure you manually configure *room correction* in windows. It should appear in the realtek HD audio manager. If you have a realtek sound.

Basically you configure it by entering how many metres away you are from each speaker. Then test the DB+ to normalise volume.
    For example:
    Sub woofer +2 DB
left speaker 0.57 metres away +2 DB
Right speaker 0.62 metres away +2 DB
Center Speaker 0.82 metres away +2B
Rear left 0.57 metres away +7 DB
Rear right 1.41 metres away +7DB

I tried using windows automatic tuning but the numbers came back massively out of whack. (it said speakers were 2m away and sounds came out really messy and out of timing.
