I have a question with car setups, mainly with TOE IN and TOE OUT in raceroom experience. Do the bigger negative numbers equal more toe in or do the bigger positive numbers equal more toe in??
I also always get confused. I found this one here for instance: for a RWD car, a negative "toe in" means the wheels are pointing inwards (front axle), positive numbers are pointing outwards. correct me if I am wrong
Indeed : -X number is a TOE In => wheel pointing inside (based on the direction you drive of course). So to add TOE IN you mathematically decrease the number: -20 is more TOE IN than -10 +X number is TOE Out => wheels pointing outside. To resume: TOE In = negative numbers TOE out = positive numbers But once you have the schema showed above in head it's more easy to get and you only think about TOE angle and not specially about TOE IN and TOE OUT.
Wait a second. If TOE In = negative numbers TOE out = positive numbers Then why do all the cars have +x in the rear and -x in the front? How would it make sense to have toe out in the rear of a 500hp RWD car?
The description of the setting should be self-explanatory but the toe setting gives room for confusion since the dawn of time. The text string is "Toe In (Front and Rear)" so positive values mean a positive Toe In = Toe In. Negative Toe In values mean the opposite of Toe In = Toe Out.
TOE OUT on the rear wheel give more stability (when you brake and/or enter the turn) So it's specialy for powerful RWD that you put toe out on the rear wheels
That stands contrary to everything I've read about toe adjustment. http://temp.buchtic.net/RD-Setup-Guide-1.0.pdf http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/assetto-corsa-car-setup-guides.99049/#post-1907640 http://en.intraxracing.nl/techniek/camber,-caster,-toe-intoe-out/
