I would like to see a R3E livery on a WTCC car and why not, Sector 3 made their own wtcc car and put this one as a Free content. I'm really wondering how they can Imagine a car like that. So Sector 3, challenge accepted ? ^^

 

The way I've interpreted it is this

Not Chevrolet I guess. In the 2015 Cruze from Roal it's old-school LCD type with green backlight. Couldn't find a 2016 example. But in game it is the same white LCD screen. Take a look at this video from Tom Coronel. Display unit is around 3 minutes.

 

What is TC1 and TC2?

 

Someone more knowledgeable than myself may give a better answer, but I'll give it a shot....

TC1 and TC2 are specs of cars that race in the WTCC. Kind of like GT2 and GT3.

WTCC cars as we know them in game, and what you might see on TV are TC1 cars. They are built to certain regulations that you can find on the WTCC website. TC2 cars are lower cost, use less technology, are a bit slower, etc. and are meant to fill out the grid on a WTCC race weekend. Since WTCC is kind of waning and they only really field ~18 cars... WTCC thought they needed bigger grids, so they added the TC2 class. I dont know enough about it to know anything else about those cars, but they dont race the TC1 cars.

For all intents and purposes though, TC2 doesnt matter, and has no relevance in RR.

 

To make it really simple, the TC2 category was created for the 'old' WTCC cars used from 2005 to 2013, the TC2 regs are basically 'rebranded' Super 2000 regulations, possibly to make the category names less confusing. These cars are still eligible to race in ETCC (the European Touring Car Cup), but nobody uses them in practice anymore, because the new TCR cars are equally fast but cheaper alternatives.

Indeed old spec cars. But to my knowledge it was also applied to old factory cars. For example a 2015 factory TC1 spec, would be TC2 next year if the new factory car is updated. I could be wrong here, but that is what I from what I've seen and heard. But for 2017 regulation they only speak about TCN spec. For example I know that teams will drive with Lada Vestia's but no longer with full factory support. And with some fast reading I can't make up if there is a privateer and factory team division. If you thought rules of F1, IndyCars, Nascar etc were changing lightning fast. Welcome to WTCC.

So are you on a hunger strike till we get the surprise? I am too so long as we get it in the 20 minutes or so.

 

do we actually get a specific WTCC rule set to setup races? like the once for the DTM oder ADAC Masters?

Just a wild guess but could the "Surprise" be an Easter Egg hunt?
"Find the giant mushroom to unlock single player multi-class, the golden Mars Bar wrapper will unlock ADAC 2016 etc......
Georg did say it would keep us entertained for a long while.
