Was trying out some of the competitions last night and after a pretty average go at Indy in the ADAC 2014 Corvette ( which I usually like...I suck at that Indy infield), I went to the WTCC Seat/Hungaroring combo. What a blast! Those cars are light, frisky and the FFB is great. Actually catching the "lift off oversteer" and sliding round corners, working the wheel like a madman. Got a decent time , too. I have the Cruize, but haven't run it for a few weeks.(Been running the ADAC 2014...also excellent) I'll be setting up a WTCC custom championship ASAP. I urge everyone to get one of these or the whole lot. Refreshing........ I can also recommend the Nismo/Monza Junior combo...that wiggly bit in the woods is tricky.
IMO, the corners are were you get the best sensation for speed and these cars deliver that feelling in spades. Great fun.
Yepp, had a race yesterday again....noticed I´m not that bad (compared to the "specialists" who seem to drive WTCC mainly) though I still need more practice....always enjoy racing these cars but somehow they remain a bit underrated for me...maybe because I raced them for a long time with other games/mods
I was skeptical to buy the wtcc package because I remembered in Race07 they were not so fun, then I decided to take and ...wow, really a blast to drive FWD catching lift off oversteer, really nice to drive'em and very different from each other both in physic and sounds unlike Race07. I tested them before, but I was not so impressed, it's not the first time I test a car and then I have a differente feeling, maybe test mode is not get real?
I'm a big fan of FWD touring cars and in many ways they are more fun than RWD cars. Lift-off oversteer and ensuing slides are fun but not the fastest, tyre-friendly way of getting around the track. These cars promote good technique in order to be smooth and fast. Much underrated indeed.
I totally agree, but I would really like to control the amount of lift off oversteer to adjust it to my driving style and my liking. In Race07 this could mainly be adjusted using the caster angle. More caster meant more lift off oversteer. Sadly caster is still missing from the setup options in RRRE. I only hope we will get caster as an option quite soon because at the moment the amount of lift off oversteer is way too much for my liking.
If I'm not mistaken, increasing the coast will give you less lift off oversteer. Also increasing the rear wing and loosen up the rear suspension works quite well imo.
Yup I agree about the fun combo WTCC Seat/Hungaroring. It just lends itself to throwing the car around corners in those S turns.
I'm having a blast with the Seat/Hungaroring competition as well. Haven't actually tried any MP race with the WTCC pack yet though, just bought it a few days ago, but I would assume it produces really close racing.
any news about WTCC 2014 update pack? i saw pictures with lada, citroen, cruze...but nothing about honda and release date
Will WTCC 2014 be an experience or a pack? Tracks like Paul Ricard and Salzburgring will come in when that's released I guess.
