Well you only get it for same car models, but the linked discount is one way of Guess we have to define moderately then.
Sorry that you don't seem to understand Sean. It was not, 'reasoning', it was a statement of fact. People spend far more on, for example a steering wheel and yet moan about 3 Euros/pounds etc. Never mind. This happens every time Sector 3 release new content. Every time. The 'pricing model' has been there from day one. Every one knows what to expect. They have loads of sales, discounts... And if you have stopped buying them Sean, then what is your problem? Liverpool FC follower; get to many home games Sean?
Need a smoke after reading all this... But damn those cigarettes are expensive. There goes my long awaited Mclaren. But need my fix. Just as a stint a day.
Darn, where's that "Oh he's done you, mate" button. But as an LFC sympathizer I cannot approve of such statements. Shame on you, Mr Leary.
no, your logic is wrong, that is why I said your reasoning is wrong. There is no correlation between the cost of your PC to buying a R3e car. If you want to go down that path then it just opens up an absurd number of price comparisons that are just silly. Compare Apples to Apples. ouch hurt my LFC feelings.
So i refer to 1 specific instance and you say i am 'praising the system all you want'? That is completely taking out of context the point being made... Im not a fan of the overall cost of the game before the premium pack came out, and I put my fair share of money into RR. So i have every right to complain or express satisfaction that you do. And pointing out specific instances where you can get a very good deal is something I am more fond of doing than always being negative and being cynical all the time mentioning perceived flaws. The same old complaints that sprout up during every single new content release are tiring. The system isnt changing. And as Christian points out, linked content discounts are still a thing and offer good deals that way. Cheers
If people keep talking about the business model...it's not a good business model. Nice car but simply another piece of content to throw on a growing heap of 'stuff to buy in the next meaningful sale'. Colour this long-term player thoroughly unimpressed with how this business model has panned-out.
My options for the 650S - I purchased the Premium Pack last weekend so I currently own everything: 1) 650S: 399 vRP 2) GT3 Class (1 new car - the 650S): 186 vRP 3) Starter Pack (1 new car - the 650S): 103vRP I realize I can only purchase the Starter Pack, Pro Pack, or Premium Pack "once" but what about the GT3 class - will I get a similar discount as above when new cars are added to the class?
Sorry guys, as a new user i don't understand what the "November patch" point\differences between users. I bought WTCC pack in December, and with the 2016 i was able to buy/upgrade it again at 250vRP (or similar). I haven't done the upgrade. Sunday I bought my 7500 vrp for 50€ and upgraded directly to premium pack. Today I see the McLaren for 399 as a single car, for 186 inside the gtr3 upgrade, for 103vrp inside the starter pack. So the business model seems pretty good to me. More you have less you spend to upgrade. Just an option for an upgrade of the premium pack could be better. So what part of the arguing i don't understand? Please help a newbie. Thank you.
Ok then. However I don't like apples. Does iracing count as an 'apple'? $11.95 per car, and all that.. But Sean, you have said you are not buying cars anymore. Is it just the 'pricing model' that is stopping you? Honestly interested. What is stopping you, sure Sector 3 would like to hear. Perhaps, as you have suggested, a better scheme for long-term players. If you use iracing as an example, not every player owns/rents everything. A lot of people just get what they like. It is down to choice, buy what you want/like. Same here really. Both games are using the same model really, however one is a great deal cheaper. And one plays a great deal better than the other....
I have been here for years voiced this many times. S3 can't change it because of their parent company. iRacing is silly expensive, but it does offer a full package game. Do the two equal out? Each person's view will be different. Ultimately it falls below iRacing in price but AC, A, PC are all much better for value priced titles. I have more than enough money, I could buy the real Mclaren, but my point is the model is broken and has slightly changed a few times over the past 4 years....the latest iteration being the worst for long time users. So, I am not someone complaining who doesn't have money. I am complaining because it is a poor system and it actually hurting S3, which hurts the consumer...me. I won't buy cars anymore, unless I have to(league has a race series in that car) but on sales I may dip into stuff. I.e I just bought the prem pack for the Easter sale because the price point versus content makes total sense and I needed Silverstone for my league.
Thanks. Ok, then I'll wait, I'm in no hurry to buy another similar car - I can't drive them all anyway
That's one way, in my case the other is to buy the GT3 Class. But, you can only buy any of the packs only once. You won't be able to buy the "Starter Pack" again, if they add anything - might not be an issue.
Thanks for that Sean. I was not asking you about money, I would not be so rude. So, the model is broken. May be, may be not. It really does depend on how you view it. Is it a poor system, and confusing some? Would be better to bin the v fake money thing? And round the price up. Should we, the players, view buying cars and tracks as supporting Sector 3? Why? Because the game is still in beta. What do you think the answer is? Steam Spy thingy, claims that this game has been downloaded 3,000,000 times. So, something is very right, or something is very wrong. Ps; if you can afford a car like that, you can come and watch Liverpool at home... And take me for lunch.
I am at a loss in buying 650S It is not a problem of the amounts of money 650S vs MP4 650S vs M6 NISSAN GTR vs 650S I want to do such a race Does the dream meet it sometime?
iRacing has a subsctiption fee, RR doesnt. iR has obscene content pricing, RR is debatable. iR has content rentals, RR doesnt. What other game has fully licensed series besides iR with Nascar? None do. AC has very few tracks, rF is a mod platform with paltry 1st party content, Pcars is... well, Pcars, and AMS is probably the other best overall package all things considered. Unless you go back a few years to Race 07 & GTR2. For what RR has become, it is a very good package for $65 (premium pack and 10000 vRP off the raceroom store). Less so for those that have been playing for years already. But at the same time, you've been playing for years already. Unless someone doesnt value the time spent, the overall package isnt obscene. It is just priced a bit more than it's competitors.
