Just start without VR and in the settings somewhere (can’t recall which menu) you can assign a keyboard button to the mirror monitor command. This will allow you to turn the monitor image on or off. Today I had the same problem. I googled it and found that solution which works wonderfully well Edit: part of the post I found on this problem, ——- You need to remove the -vr and start normally. into the options menu look for controls secondary functions I think. Find one that says toggle to VR monitor and save that. Toggle to a button of course. go back and change to -vr again and launch. wait for Raceroom to itself again like normal. wait for music to go. Then hit the button you toggled and it should show up.
wtf. I wanted to start raceroom and it loaded.. everything fine. But when I put on the Rift I saw the raceroom screen AND now the Oculus Home menu on top. It never appeared before when I played raceroom... heck.. I already played raceroom today without this problem. Any way to get rid of this oculus home menu? jesus christ, this sucks.
Edit the .exe of the oculus home and tick run as an administrator. This way it prevents to open up oculus home. It still runs but in the background.
yeah I tried that but no.... then I only see a black screen in VR. I had to click on raceroom in the VR menu and it worked then.
@The Iron Wolf iveIhad that slideshow quite a bit ! All is good for laps on end then all of a sudden it starts to slow down to 5 odd fps and its not like I'm getting dips when you go under 45 its completely different but all monitoring software reads as normal even showing 45 fps . Its been told that removing MSI AB (if used ) solves this . @sbtm if you have Dash on in OH just click the last right icon (it should be R3E) and OH Dash will disappear
You can still use the old method, but you can also set the SS in steamVR settings. The monitor view I’m not too sure if that is possible with the new vr launch option, but i also recommend not using the monitor mirror
Tried omitting -monitor in launch option, but mirror window still appears at start, is this normal? Though initially a black screen, when I press the key assigned to monitor, the game appears on screen mirror. Nonetheless, I didn't see any difference in performance. Yes, this was my experience. Everything in-hud slows down (gameplay, FFB graph, mouse movement in menu, and even seen if viewing the monitor mirror). Unfortunately, we lose the graph stats w/o AB.
I read more about problms and afterburner.. could do no harm to uninstall it and see if this solve the problem you guys have. If not, then install it again.
Thank you, I normally run with no tools at all, aside from Crew Chief and Z1Dashboard. And that one day I had AB left on, and it won't surprise me that tool could hurt performance, because it is surprisingly heavy (I see it in performance profiles all the time). Will try with it off. Have you tried Win 10 1803 build Game Mode on/off with R3E (and rF2) in VR?
hello to everyone, throws out of the game after the first lap, what could be the problem? Vr oculus rift,I 7700k,gtx1070,32 gig ram ddr4
I always have AB on because I use it to undervolt my card as its 10c cooler undervolted The stutter doesn't happen everytime, thats the thing that bugs me , I have AB on full-time and stutter comes only some times i play ! And not on lap one but rather after 5 laps ?? I have fully updated Win 10 and have game mode off ! Have you noticed any difference with game mode on/off ?
Just to clarify, while AB is on, do you also have the graph displayed? And if so, what stats are shown? In my end, my undervolt appears to be maintained even after closing AB.
I just have AB running like this in this vid for all my VR gaming except obviously I don't have Chrome or GPUz load test on , lol Ive never actually closed it down to see if the undervolt holds even when closed ! Wouldnt that mean AB is still active anyway ?
