This was a wonderful surprice - BMW M3 E30 Group A & DTM 92' My rating: 5 of 5 stars - Mercedes 190 Evo DTM 92' My rating: 5 of 5 stars - Opel Omega Evo 500 DTM 92' My rating: 3 of 5 stars There is something in the old sound missing in the new (i can't describe it but this clip has it)
I don't think so. Maybe... https://www.flickr.com/photos/143694754@N04/30582279966/in/album-72157672650852423/ Although I'm not sure either
I think something went wrong with my update. The Opel Omega now sounds like a motorised tin can in cockpit (for the lack of a better description). Totally missing deep grumble and roaring. I'm rather sure it is not supposed to sound like that, it hurts the ears. From the outside I think it sounds like it's supposed to be. Didn`t change anything with sound settings and steam verified all game files without a single complaint. Any files I can delete so steam downloads them again? Merc sounds good as far as I can tell (if I knew how the new sounds are supposed to sound).
A Frenchman can not visit other countries? In his commentary he has only said that it is a circuit he visited last year for the first time, and that it was a Formula race. I do not think he said anywhere that it's a circuit in his native country ... I do not know for sure if that is his Flickr account, but it is very coincidence that there is another photographer with the same name, that has photos of motor competitions and that last year he was in Imola taking photos to a formula. Not to mention that the photographer of that account also seems French ... If I had to bet something, I would say that the circuit on which he is working is Imola.
I will be very pleased indeed if it's Imola. Yeah, it's in other sims but a classic track is a classic track. So much history, even if some of it is tragic.
My sound must be messed up as well. The 92 DTM went from OMG to....uhh,,,that's rather dull and uninspiring. Specifically, the gear lash and whine is missing despite transmission noises cranked up to 100. Checked integrity of game and its all there. Something is up.
Considering the fact that the AMG Driving Academy for the Mercedes competition winners also took place in Imola, I think it's a safe bet.
Didn't mean to sound harsh or mean. Just tried to communicate a sound characteristic via written words. If that's what it is than congrats to another faithful sound representation of a car. I just didn't expect it to sound.. well.. like that. In this case Opel or whoever rebuilt the car to race specs is to blame for a differently than expected sounding engine. Greetings
Appreciating the great sound in raceroom I have to agree regarding the new Omega sound. That was a surprise and I thought it's maybe my sound setup. I checked some onboard videos and they sound more similar to the previous sound than the updated one. The deep grumbling is missing imo and the comparison with the tin can came also into my mind. Sorry I heard the Omega this year at Norisring but of course not from inside. Wouldn't have expected such a sound but if it's no bug or sth like a missing subwoofer signal then it's just like it is. At least it doesn't sound like the Sierras that sounded like a leaking air tube
Surely something got wrong with the Opel. I need to check first and then we'll fix if it's not as it is supposed to be. In the meantime, this is the video I used as reference :
... thx god, I am not alone! ... I really love the engine sounds in R3E but the new interior sound files for the Opel are ... no comment. ... pls some rework. I hope we get something like that one day: The old one was almost perfect ... a little bit too high pitched and too less bass ... "... brummen und blubbern muss er, nicht schreien!"
