I still hope for these cars alot... Especially with the new perspective that there is a License-Agreement with Porsche for some cars... And if I get @Alex Hodgkinson in yesterdays RD-Stream right, he wouldn't mind building the physics for these cars

So as the others already stated - you'll only need vRP when you want to buy Content like Tracks, Cars or Liveries. Everthing else comes free... well, ok - with the update a new Competition-Format is coming in which you need to pay an entry-fee... but there isn't much known about it at the moment.
According to Georg (in Twitch-chat during the interview) the ranked MP is still on the to-do list. Or in other words, not much to report, it seems.
