An excellent review of ACC from Eurogamer (and a man who raced against Lewis Hamilton in karts): https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-06-17-assetto-corsa-competizione-review
The shadows are really bad. At least in my opinion. It looks like if the cars floating. Perhaps I have the wrong settings.
Nah, its not your settings, although Ultra shadows and not turning of Ambient Occlusion via ini edits helps, a bit, it doesn't solve it. https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/...ten-make-it-appear-the-car-is-floating.57805/
Do hope they do some FFB work, I'm finding it so far off that it's impossible to get any consistency, seems to randomly punt me, regardless of what inputs I'm making. Frustrating, which I'm sure was not the desired outcome but will be waiting just a bit longer before dedicating more time to it. Think I may be getting my Unreal fix from Kartkraft in the future, far more polished and still in EA.
Shadows are really a thing. Cars look defenetly hovering. But for me its not a big issue. In Spa for example i have this problem at first after 5 or 6 laps when i start overlapping FFB feels very well done for me. No complaining here...
Patch 1.0.5 is out now. Main fixes are with multiplayer and physics. Are people still playing this game in online mode or have they given up on it? Kunos seem to be working to fix the issues from the first release but it does seem to be an inferior game to the original in many areas, especially content.
The game is a specialist, most of what it does, it does better than almost any other, but it does little, content-wise. This could indeed become a problem for the longevity of the game.
Yes, it will be interesting to see what roadmap they have in terms of new content going forward but it seems that the issues with multiplayer version and the kerbs are what are upsetting the early adopters.
Dry or wet, I have no issues with the kerbs on any track. But then I do not galopp over them like a suicidal psychopath. I use them always in a controlled manner.
I drive mainly offline. The driving immersion is far away from what the other sims I know are delivering. Atm unbeatable. But yes, the content is a bootleneck of fun. Cars are enough (callaway missing), but tracks... There has to come something or acc is dead before real birth... I hope for the other BP Series. Asia and Amerikay. VIR, RA and so on would be VERY nice additions
I guess they will add GT4 and trackpack DLC´s once the 2019 season has finished. Main problem is BP series always uses the same tracks - it´s a bit like the RRE DTM packs - maybe on or two change over 5 years.
Reports of ACCs death are somewhat exaggerated. The 80% drop off in peak players since v1.0 launch is worse than most new releases or EA titles, but numbers seem to have levelled off or even gone up a bit this week, perhaps helped by the steam sales (which has seen some titles such as rF2 and PC2 gain quite a bit in player numbers). While its possible the decline might start again it looks like ACC might run at numbers higher than RR. The good news for fans of rival sims is that ACC seems to have had little or no effect on numbers playing other sims or even AC. Many seem to assume the decline is down to limited content, but personally I think other issues with the game are more significant. If people get bored of 4 new tracks and 10 or so new cars in the space of a month we are all in trouble.

Ffb is fine for me. I’m not playing until triple screens or graphics improvements are made though. Too frustrating with stretched triples and crappy performance
Some very nice tracks in the Asia and US Blancpain series but these will be substantial DLCs involving 12 or 13 brand new tracks. I could easily see this taking 2 years to produce. Those hoping for AC2 any time soon could be be disappointed.
Hm, tbh we dont know the actual state of the DLCs. I dont think they sit in now an think about what to do. If there is a contract with blancpain....the Asia and US Series are surely discussed a long time ago...
Ah ok, only question answered so far : Fired ACC up once in a while but without Headtracking I can't race anymore (like the VR guys can't without VR support)- it's just lame and static, no matter how good or bad the sim is Wonder they still didn't implement - with AC it worked flawlessly from the first moment I activated it....
New engine-new problems maybe? They will sort this out, for sure... Aris is communicating now with Mr. Crewchif if i remember correctly. So hopefully there will be some great news in the near future...
