So I have spent some time on the iRacing Nords, and last night decided to come back and give the RRE version a go. I must admit I expected to have a new pair of eyes and thought I was in for a Walt Disney experience. How wrong was I. I have a new found appreciation for the skills of the RRE chap that created this version - I'd even say in many respects it surpasses the iRacing version. I thought it was good before, but now I know it's absolutely stunning!
The main question is more: Why would iracing version be better ? Why, by default, thinking, iracing team would make better job than S3S team ? Seems that people tend to give iracing more credit that it deserve. (mainly when you know that the raw laserscan datas are the same between all the differents version: iracing, R3E, Asseto, etc, coming from the same provider)
I wasn't trying to start a debate or a flame war...if that's the case then admins please close this thread before there is any ill feeling. I was actually thanking and praising the devs / artists for RRE's version...that's all.
And it didn't sound like you were. Rather you came here to give R3E credit and the first response you got was pretty much accusing you of bias...good grief! It's usually very fun and civil around here, sorry your thread got hit with that right away. Welcome!!
Ive never driven iracing at any time, but have driven 5 or so different versions of Nords over the years, the newest prior to RR was Pcars, not even in the same ball park to me, then again i never enjoyed that game from day one so my view of the track itself maybe slightly based on my view of the game overall. Raceroom version stomps all over them, it is just right, to drive, the look, the performance, it is a very nice package.
Don't get me wrong. Wasn't accusing you off anything. But your post raised me something... Mainly because you said: This mean that in your mind, iracing is "supposed" to be better than R3E, and iracing content "should" have been better than content from R3E. To be said, my thought came on a general purpose: why people seems to think that iracing should have better "anything" than R3E ? That said, for me it means that there's a "halo effect" (nothing related to the FPS by Microsoft) around iracing... people finding it good because it is iracing, with the opposite for R3E when some think that it's "worst than", just because it's R3E.
Hi ! The Nordschleife from R3E is great ! But what it would be make it more great is multiclass. I dream of it since i get the NOS I wanna see GT3, WTCC, Audi Cup and DTM92/TouringClassic driving on it the same time
Agreed, love the trackside ambiance, I realize it took a long time to make but it really set a new bar for what a good track is. Hope the sales it's been generating have been worth it and we'll see more of the same going forward. I for one don't mind tossing some more VLPs S3s way if it means laserscanned tracks.
Laser scanned + local KW suspensions data = master race Although it's funny how the Kunos' version is more bumpy.
There is a LOT of difference between the iRacing version and RRE in terms of some camber and elevation. Also the iRacing version is considerably wider in places. Just my observation - both are excellent.
they are all 3 literally using the same data, no? at any rate, incredible graphical detail, but...doesnt really matter when it runs like a slideshow
Change your fov ingame, try .6 .7 or .8, should give you something simillar to make a better comparison.
