I'm already having nightmares in which he's standing behind me, humming "Every Breath You Take".

 

I generally find the idea of a continously growing and advancing and updated race simulation much better than buying a standard retail version 1.0 for 50€ , which mostly includes not proper bugfixing/patching e.g. a decreasing interest of doing so but selling a truckload of DLC's with content I urgently want to have but really don't need 50% of it.

Just sayin'.....and I don't think anything of the modus operandi will be changed by S3 - you just will see a V 1.0 (+) at the intro screen in the future...what I see is that the average gamer is somehow heavily conditioned in terms of his expectations regarding game developement - like with soccer : Many commentators are just brainless windbags using some (often fictional) keywords to uphold your attention (and I don't want to start with the "political" ones) - but nevertheless nobody would look a soccergame without comment = conditioning..
Maybe we will have the first infinite game at all with R3E....

Personally, I'd just be happy if S3S released a list of the essential sim features (I'm not talking about animated raindrops!) that they actually plan to fix or implement. No time line necessary.

eg
Proper visual and mechanical damage modelling
Better collision handling
Tyre wear/overheating/flatspotting
Setups
Proper penalties, applying to AI also
etc

It's all well and good to whinge about these things from time to time and be told "the devs want to make the game better, time/budgetary constraints notwithstanding". Perhaps a clearer picture of the better game the devs have in mind would help a few people (eg me) take a deep breath

 

And fix this clutch shit.

 

And so do they, they are sim fanatics just like everybody else here, they want all those features just as badly. But whether and when each of those are possible only time or some oracle can tell. Any Greeks around? Quick trip to Δελφοί might help.
