I think it would be worth it to post this article again.

This was done over the summer for a sim racing magazine (yes that actually exists lol) and is viewable in your browser.

Skip to page 55 for the good bits. J-F, Sonat, and Jay Ekkel (who isnt with Sector3 anymore) are interviewed and share some thoughts on R3E.

I think it's worth noting, looking back at that, what they have envisioned, and what has come since then. To do the things on their "wishlist" of features they want to implement in the game takes a damn long time. It isnt just a week of coding and "ploop" feature inserted.

I know the devs want to continually expand and advance the game to be more than it is currently, content and feature wise. On the content front, there is a lot of fun stuff ahead constantly getting tweaked and being worked on by the physics devs. As for features, I have no idea what is close, isnt close, or is planned. But I do know they are working on fixes for things that arent working as they should. Oh, and I would be remiss if I didnt mention that the sounds always continually improve. From the transmission elasticity/wobble being added last year to overall quality of the sounds moving ahead. Content wise, things are looking quite good.

I completely agree with the dev stream sentiment though. I used to love watching those when they occurred semi-regularly. Great way to get some insight on the game, what is being worked on, and even some teasers of upcoming content. Hopefully they bring those back again.

Did you guys read any of the links provided with these answers? Either the one from RD in December or the sim-magazine that I posted from a few months prior?

Triple screen support, multi gpu support, a player ranking system for better MP, longer MP races, bigger grids, mixed class racing, improved sounds, improved AI, improved MP, a variety of new content, fuel management, tire management, being able to finally save car setups, improved FFB, etc.

Without turning this into a wishlist thread, there is a lot of concrete improvements that are either being worked on or are planned.

If you are looking for 100% hardcore racing rules, flags, laser scanned rain, 24 hr races with real time weather, Sebastian Vettel racing for you and winning every race you enter... One thing at a time gents

 

Laser scanned rain, now there's an innovation that could really set R3E apart from the competition!

Well, you know, IF they are going to do it, then they will not settle for any old rain, and rightfully so I say.

The clutch always works when you step on it, and when you don't.
It seems like the auto clutch is always on, there is no failing to engage the gears.
No grind, no tranny damage.
It will stall the car if dumped into 1st without the clutch being depressed, but it shouldn't engage at all.
And speaking of the auto clutch,
why don't they put the auto clutch, H shifter and manual trans, selections all on the same page.

 

I won't be happy until we have night racing with a laser scanned moon!
